Following Jesus?

The Three6teen Youth Ministry is a vision of the Friendship Baptist Church, designed to help implant the gospel of Jesus Christ into the hearts and lives of students. John 3:16 is the theme verse and it says, 1 Corinthians 3:11 is our theme verse and it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” . It is our desire that you find this relationship with the Son by making a decision to believe in Him by faith. We believe the Bible to be words spoken straight from the mouth of God. 2 Timothy 3:16 states, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” If this is true then we must take a look at what God’s word says in Romans.

Romans 3:23 states, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We have all sinned. We have all done things that are wrong in the eyes of God. There is no one on the planet that is innocent. Romans 6:23, teaches us about the consequences of sin, ” For the wages of sin is death,” The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death!

Though the wages of sin is death the rest of Romans 6:23 states that, “the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 5:8 goes along with that verse and states, ” But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus Christ gave His life up for us! Jesus’ death paid for the price of our sins, and Jesus’ resurrection proves that God accepted Jesus’ death as the payment for our sins.
So with all that said what can you do to gain that acceptance from God? Romans 10:9 states, ” If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Because of Jesus’ death for our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting that His death can provide the payment for our sins – and guess what – WE WILL BE SAVED! Romans 10:13 says it again, “for, EVERYONE who calls on the name of the Lord WILL BE SAVED.” Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

What are the results of this Salvation? Romans 5:1 has this wonderful message, “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.” Through Jesus Christ we can have a relationship of PEACE with God. Romans 8:1 teaches us, ” Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Because of Jesus’ death on our behalf, we will never be condemned or judged for our sins.

Finally, we have this amazing promise of God from Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Would you like to follow this Romans Road to salvation? If so, here is a simple prayer you can pray to God. Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your salvation. The words themselves will not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation!

“God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But I know now that Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I can be forgiven. With your help, I place my trust in your Son Jesus Christ for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful forgiveness and the gift of eternal life! Amen!”

Did you just accept Jesus Christ into your life to forgive you of your sins? Have you made this decision for Christ because of what you have learned through the Romans Road to salvation? If so, we want to encourage you. Below is contact information to The Three6teen Youth Ministry and we would love if you would contact us to tell us of your decision.
