THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11

The funeral service for Tim Lee yesterday morning went well and was well attended.  Sherry Lee and the entire family did very well and I believe your prayers during that time had much to do with that fact.  Sherry plans on being in our services this Sunday morning.  Please continue to pray for her and her family.

Daphne Patterson’s aunt, Sandy Atcheson, is not doing so well in the intensive care unit at one of the local hospitals.  Please continue to pray for her husband, Jimmy, and the entire family.

Bro. Jerry did a good job of leading our prayer meetings yesterday morning and last night.  We had another blessed day in the Lord and we give Him the glory.

The calendars did come in yesterday and all of the students have their’s in hand.  If you placed an order and haven’t received it within a few days, please contact the student who took your order or give me a shout.  We have a few extra calendars but not many and they will go on a first come, first served basis.

Tonight is the final night of the initial Upward evaluations for the upcoming season.  If you have a child, 1st – 5th grades, wanting to play, he/she needs to come to the CAB between 6:00PM – 8:00PM tonight.

I have failed to mention that folks can give financially to our Operation Homecoming project.  Some folks are giving of their time/talents but others want to give a monetary gift to help with this effort.  Simply make sure to mark “Homecoming” on the designated side of an offering envelope.

Speaking of our 60th homecoming, our guest preacher for the 6:00PM service on 11/11 will by Pastor Robbie Howard.  Bro. Robbie is Friendship’s longest tenured Pastor having served here from 1971 until 1990.  He now serves as pastor at 1st Baptist Helena, MS.  It will be a joy to welcome him back to the pulpit at Friendship.

The Friendship family financially supports Michael & Linda Robertson and their children as missionaries through International Gospel Outreach.  They have been in Moscow, Russia for the past four years or so.  Today, 10/11, they begin a five days trip aboard a train as third class passengers bound for Siberia in a relocation.  Pray for their safety in travel and for this new ministry opportunity.  Can you say forty degrees below zero?  I might even consider that a bit cold!

Queen, I need you or Ross to reply to my most recent e-mail to you guys.  Thanks!

I hope you will have a great day in the Lord!
