MONDAY, OCTOBER 15

I am thankful to the Lord for giving me a good weekend.  I had safety in traveling to and from Memphis, a good meeting discussing GRACE Ministries with Bret Hart & Ryan Johnston, a good time at Michael & Deidra’s, and a good time at the Bama game.  Actually, Lisa’s cousin, Kenny Clark, got us a third ticket and Michael joined us for the game.  As we were walking through The Grove before the game, we saw several folks from the Danville area including Pastor Jack Bailey & Pastor Tim Keenum.  A good day!

Yesterday, we were blessed with good services.  I am thankful to the folks who participated in the prayer ministry on Saturday night.  This Saturday night’s prayer team will be led by Claude Landry, Ben Vickers, and Bro. Jerry and they will meet at 6:00PM.  You are invited to join them as they pray for the next day’s services.

Our missions committee met last night and it appears that we now have someone in place to work with GRACE Ministries in the area where Derrick & Jodie were working.  I need to make a couple of contacts to finalize some things and we will then be sharing more about this.

Speaking of GRACE Ministries, Mario Amuy has given birth to their son.  He was born on 10/4 weighing 7.5 pounds and his name is Josias (Josiah).  Mother and son are both home from the hospital and doing fine.  Praise the Lord!

Pastor Travis Northcutt sent an e-mail yesterday asking for prayer for his wife, Amy, as she is in her final week before giving birth via a c-section next Monday, 10/22.  Amy is a diabetic and will be giving birth at a hospital in Louisville, KY that has a NICU in the event there are problems.  Pray for Pastor Travis, Amy, & Lucy as they await the arrival of Lilly.

Jerry  Whitmore and Paul Smith will both be having surgery tomorrow morning.  Please pray for them.  Miss Minnie Boykin passed away Friday morning and that service will be in Waynesboro, MS this afternoon.  I have plans to attend that service and the trip to Waynesboro will allow me to visit with Jennings & Emma Brewer.  I look forward to that visit even though Miss Emma will probably not know who I am due to Alzheimer’s.

Operation Homecoming continues to be at the front of what we are doing as a church family.  Please join us in working, giving, & praying as we ready for the 60th anniversary of the Friendship family on 11/11.

I hope you have a great Monday!
