WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17

The Lord blessed as Lisa and I had safe travels to and from Hartselle.  The traffic was congested in Birmingham going up, there was an apparent accident on the way home between exits 212 and 208 as we got routed off the interstate for that stretch, it rained off and on, and folks drove 95 miles an hour (can you say Ross Genzink?) but we were kept safe and we are thankful!  I told Lisa that I think I am getting too old (I’m in the 20-29 years old SS class)for these type trips but we were glad to get to be there with Connie & her family.

It was good to see my niece, Jamie, and her son, Grayson.  We didn’t see  Adam but he did take care of us by buying Big Bob Gibson’s bar-b-que for supper – it just doesn’t get any better!  We got to see my mama and a ton of friends from years gone by (some of those folks I went to school with are getting old!)  Please pray for the Russell family today as they attend Glyn’s funeral service.

Gloria Whitmore left a voice mail saying that Jerry had gotten put in a room around 3:30PM yesterday afternoon and was doing well.  Praise the Lord!  Paul Smith’s surgery was postponed and I haven’t heard yet from Mr. J.B. or Melissa.

Those folks who signed up to be a member of the student ministry committee need to plan on meeting this Sunday, 10/21, at 4:00PM in the student ministry building.

Mark, I hope to have a definitive word for you today or tomorrow.  Shari, we are good to go with what we have name wise at this point.

It is Wednesday which means two prayer services, senior high Bible study, and a college/young professionals Bible study for me.  It is a good day!  I hope each person reading this entry will go to church somewhere tonight if your church offers Wednesday services!

May the Lord richly bless you today!
