WEDNESDAY, 1/23/08

Again, I waited a little later to post in order to give an update on Miss Exie.  She was alert and had a strong grip on my hand with her left hand.  She even spoke a word or two – not real plainly but plain enough to understand somewhat.

Vaughn Womack did receive the port yesterday and also received his first treatment to fight against the leukemia.  I think this series of treatment will consist of seven days.

We will have a regular schedule today with Bro. Jerry preaching in the 10:00AM & 7:00PM services.  Sean Garrick, Bible teacher at Faith Academy, will be our guest in the senior high Bible study tonight at 6:00PM.

There will be a Missions Committee meeting this Sunday afternoon at 4:30PM, a Finance Committee meeting at 5:00PM, and a very important meeting for all parents interested in their children (6th – 12th grades) attending Wild Week this summer immediately following the evening worship service.  Please don’t forget that Mitchell Fox will be sharing during our 6:00PM service this Sunday.

The meeting with Reggie Quimby and the others went very well yesterday.  I think it was an informative time for all of us and I do believe more Alabama Baptists will be using the mission house in days ahead.  We are also going to be introduced to some Baptist churches in the Chimaltenango area which will allow us to build a relationship with them for ministry purposes.

I am going to be out of pocket for the next couple of days as I will be driving to Ashland, Kentucky for Miss Jackie Roe’s funeral service.  So, there may not be an entry tomorrow just depending on where I am and if I have a connection to the internet.  (I’ll be near TN and I am sure Al had ample connections placed in his home state when he invented the internet so I should be good to go)

I am going to attend the visitation for Gerald Poiroux’s brother, Buddy, this afternoon before leaving for KY.  I think Gerald is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.

I hope you have a great Wednesday with Jesus.  If possible, go to a church service.
