MONDAY, 3/17/08

The Friendship family enjoyed another Sunday of God’s blessings in our three services.  What a joy to see Ruby Gulley make a public profession of faith in our 10:30AM service!  It was also a blessing to see Darren & Kayla Schoen come to join the Friendship family – Darren by baptism and Kayla by letter.  The evening service saw Ruby Gulley and Gavin Chandler follow the Lord in believer’s baptism.  We give God the glory for the increase!

Word came yesterday that Mrs. Maggard, mother of Phylis Bush, passed away.  She suffered a stroke about a month ago and has not done well physically since then.   The arrangements are incomplete at this time but I do know the burial will take place in the Meridian, MS area.  Pray for Phylis and her family.

One of Edna Holifield’s aunts passed away this weekend too.  I believe her name was Vera Miller.  Edna is traveling to the Laurel area today to attend that service.  Pray for the Miller family.

Presently, we do not have anyone from the Friendship family in the hospital – thank the Lord!  However, we do have folks in need of our prayers.  Please keep praying for Carla Kyser as she takes her treatments.  Sara Nell Moulds has some pre-cancerous places on her head and is having to apply a topical chemotherapy treatment.  Lillian Brinkman took a fall last Thursday and got a nice “shiner” on her left eye as a result – ouch!

Several years ago when Eddie Hall’s father was bedridden, a lady by the name of Annie would stay with him during the day while Mrs. Hall was at work.  Annie is now a resident at the local convalescent home and is not doing well physically so please pray for her too.

It is my understanding that Alma Bryant High School has a new football coach in the person of Ronnie Cottrell.  I have never met Coach Cottrell but wish the team and him well in the coming seasons.

Don’t forget to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus this week as we approach the Easter weekend.  What a Savior!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus!
