MONDAY, 3/1/10
This entry is late and I apologize for my tardiness in this area. We had a blessed day yesterday in our services. God is so good and I thank Him for being so faithful to our church family and me.
Steve Morris is home. Miss Merle Phillips remains hospitalized. Carla Kyser has sores in her mouth caused by the chemo treatment. Miss Betty Arnold will have a heart cath done on Thursday of this week. Miss Joyce Bosarge continues to battle her cancer. David & Vera Bosarge’s neighbor has made some improvement but still needs our prayers.
We had a nice response to the housing request last night. I will update our total tomorrow. Please know that these are not high school students. They are young adults in college. All we need is for them to have a place to sleep as the church will furnish the meals. Members of the Friendship family are asked to call the church office if you will house at least 2. By the way, we have to stay on an even number per their housing assignments.
Congratulations to Tim Mast & the men’s hockey team from Canada for winning the gold medal yesterday as they defeated the USA team. Some thought this would be a repeat of 1980 for the USA but it wouldn’t have been close. Every player in yesterday’s game plays in the NHL. The 1980 USA team was a bunch of young men playing against professionals. In the mid-80’s the powers that be decided to open the WO to professionals so the world could see the “best” athletes. Tranlated – $$$! In my opinion, the games lost some (most?) of their luster at that point. Honestly, I didn’t watch 15 minutes of the entire Olympics.
