FRIDAY, 7/30/10

It is expected that Miss Bea Unrue will come home from the hospital this morning.  She has done very well through her two surgeries.

Pattie Suthoff’s grandson, Gage Hudson, has been in the hospital too and had a surgical procedure done this week.  I think he has gone home.  Of course, Gage is battling cancer and needs our continued prayer support.

Kathy Wadkin’s mother, Peggy Cummings, had surgery this past week too because of a fall.  She is in a great deal of pain and needs our prayers.

Bro. Chris has taken a group of our students to Six Flags Over Georgia today.  They left early this morning and are scheduled to return home before noon tomorrow.  Pray for their safety.

We begin a new church year this Sunday, 8/1, and my prayer is that the members of the Friendship family will be faithful.  It is a busy Sunday with the presentation of the proposed budget, Nominating Committee report, and introduction of the new deacons.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 7/29/10

No new updates on anyone in the hospital as everyone is basically the same.  Keep praying.

Dan & Gloria Van Vels are friends from Michigan and are wonderful supporters of GRACE Ministries.  Shari Compagner e-mailed to say that Dan is in the hospital and on a respirator.  Please pray for him.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 7/28/10

Rob & Reb Nevin’s grandson, Justin, (3 1/2 years old) had an accident and all of the ones in one of his thumbs were crushed.  The hope/prayer is to be able to save the thumb.  Justin is one of the twins.  Pray for him and his family.

Miss Bea Unrue did well through her surgery yesterday.  I am not sure how much longer she will be hospitalized but do ask that you keep praying for her.

Please continue to pray for Jake Freeland, Amy Huhn’s nephew.  Also, pray for those battling cancer as we haven’t forgotten them.

Today will be a regular Wednesday at Friendship.  Bro. Robbie will be preaching the 10:00AM & 7:00PM services and Bro. Chris will teach during the 8:00PM hour.  It is my prayer that the members of the Friendship family will be faithful.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 7/27/10

Miss Bea Unrue will have surgery today at 3:00PM.  This will be her second surgery in less than a week so pray for her and Bro. Bill.

Anna Carol Bosarge’s heart cath revealed very little blockage so they sent her home thinking the pain she has been experiencing could be a result of some new medications she has been taking.

Louise Morris went to the doctor and they gave her some different medications along with steroids for a week.  If these things don’t have the desired effect, they will send her to a specialist.  She is still very weak.

The Dodgers are six games back but can make up ground tonight at they play at division leading San Diego.  I continue to be impressed with how well the Braves are doing this season.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

Amy Huhn’s nephew, Jake Freeland, was involved in an automobile accident last Friday night.  He is in ICU and is in a coma.  They say his neck is broken.  Jake is 23 years old.  Pray for him and his family during this time.

Chris & Nicole did arrive home safely.  Praise the Lord.  Soy & Deidra arrived home last night but had to come into Pensacola instead of Mobile.  Their luggage should arrive today.  I am glad that Deidra is at home!

MONDAY, 7/26/10

When I am in Guatemala, Bro. Jerry is so faithful to send me e-mails in order for me to update the blog.  I appreciate his diligence in this area.

I am told that Bro. Benny did a very good job of preaching in the two morning services yesterday.  I appreciate his kind spirit of cooperation and willingness.  I also appreciate Bro. Jerry Whitmore for taking care of the afternoon service and Bro. Jerry Hovel the evening service.  I believe Brad Hutto led the musical worship in the services and I appreciate him doing that too.

Anna Carol Bosarge is in the hospital and will have a heart cath today.  Bea is doing good and will have another surgery tomorrow.  Louise Morris goes to the doctor today.  Pray for these ladies.

Soy & Deidra are on the way home now and should arrive in Mobile late afternoon.  I sad about this for two reasons – Soy is actually coming home and I will not be there to greet Deidra!  I assume Chris & Nicole arrived home Saturday but don’t know that for certain.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 7/24/10

I received a couple of messages yesterday telling me that Miss Bea did great through surgery and was in a room resting well.  Keep praying for Miss Bea & Bro. Bill.

I also learned that Bro. Jerry’s team arrived home safely and on time.  Praise the Lord!

Bro. Chris & Nicole should be home early today.

I encourage the members of the Friendship family to be in their rightful place tomorrow for all of the services/classes.

I pray that you will have a great weekend with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 7/23/10

Word came to me via e-mail that Miss Bea Unrue did well through her surgery.  Praise the Lord!  She will stay in the hospital and will have another surgery next Tuesday.

Obviously, I am in Guatemala so you can keep up with this team through the GRACE blog.  I am assuming Bro. Jerry’s team made it home safe & sound.  I saw them through the window yesterday in the Guatemala airport as they were waiting to board the plane that we came in on.

I am reading that they may have a second red snapper season?  That would be awesome!

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 7/22/10

Later than usual morning greetings from the Atlanta Hartsfield airport.  I am about an hour away from boarding a plane and heading to Guatemala with 21 other folks.  I flew out of Pensacola which necessitated leaving at 3:00AM.  We had a couple go out of Gulfport, some from Atlanta, and the rest from Grand Rapids.  This is our annual college/young adults trip.  Obviously, we are replacing Bro. Jerry’s team.  They will board the plane that we take into Guatemala and are scheduled to arrive in Mobile at 11:00PM.  Pray for safe travel for all of us today.

Bea Unrue is in surgery as I type this entry.  Pray for her as she will remain the hospital and have another surgery next Tuesday.  Hopefully, someone will send me an e-mail with an update after her surgery so I can post it tomorrow.

Louise Morris is recovering at home.  Carla Kyser is some better regarding the sore in her mouth and the pain that has come along with it.  Miss Joyce Bosarge continues to take treatments but is not getting the best news from the doctors.  We have several ladies who are teachers and they do not presently have a job within the MCPSS.  Pray for them and their respective job searches.

Hey Steve Morris – did you notice that the Dodgers won last night?  Just checking!  Gotta go catch a flight.  I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

THE WORD IS…

Louise Morris has bronchitis and is being sent home from the hospital.  Praise the Lord!

You wonder why these things happen especially right after one of her sons leaves a comment on this blog dogging the Dodgers.  Hummmmm?  LOL!
