WEDNESDAY, 11/24/10

On the point today – Anna Carol Bosarge, Danny & Pam Lewis.  Tomorrow – Deidra Taylor, TJ & Lindsey Vice.  Friday – Larry Blackwell & Kerry Kelley.  Saturday – Ed Williams.  Sunday – Chris & Nicole Taylor.  Pray without ceasing!

Word came to me last night that Charlotte Gulley passed away very unexpectedly yesterday morning.  Charlotte was 37 years old and used to ride the bus to Friendship “back in the day.”  I do not know any of the arrangements but do ask that you pray for the family during this difficult time.

The funeral service for Perry Willis will take place today at noon from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home.  Perry is the nephew of Larry Whitehurst.  Pray for the family and for Pastor Alton Stokes as he preaches the service.

Pastor Tom Campbell will preach the funeral service for David James today at 3:30PM in Hartselle, Alabama.  David was 50 years old and passed away very unexpectedly on Monday.  David’s daughter, Katie, went on the mission trip with Alisha Vice a couple of summers ago.  Pray for the family and Pastor Tom.

Jay Black did well through his surgery yesterday as they inserted three screws into his foot.  He is scheduled to be released from the hospital early this morning.

Kayla Brown Averett is also doing well as she and Hunter should be released from the hospital today too.

Keep praying for Miss Joyce Bosarge and Carla Kyser in their respective battles against cancer.  Reb Nevin’s sister-in-law, Cathy Medchill, is having a heart cath today so pray for her.

Mark Mast and sixteen others head home from Guatemala today.  It is 4:30AM and I just spoke to Mark via the phone.  Two things warrant our prayer support – the possible “protests” in the major airports today and the weather in Minnesota & Canada.  Pray that they can arrive home safely tonight.

Congratulations to Jack Ciak today as his UConn Huskies upset Michigan State in basketball last night.  Which means that I have a ton of other friends i.e. lead person would be Dr. Karen Foulds who are not so happy this morning since they are State supporters.

The Lakers rolled to another victory last night but they remain one game behind San Antonio for the best record in the league.  The Hornets are playing well too!

The church office closes today at noon and will not reopen until Monday, 11/29, at 8:00AM.

Lord willing, my family and I will travel to Hartselle this afternoon to enjoy Thanksgiving with some of the Turrentine family.  We will end up in Birmingham tomorrow night so Lisa & the girls can shop early on Friday.  Brad, Charles, Soy & I will attend the game on Friday before coming home on Saturday.

We are set for a regular schedule this Sunday.  Our December schedule will differ but we will post those details later.  You can put this on your calendar for Sunday night, January 2, 2011 – Mark Harris will be with us in our 6:00PM service.  It is going to be great!

I pray that you will have a blessed Thanksgiving week with your family and Jesus.
