WHERE’S WILL?

The following conversation took place yesterday morning in the 20 – 29 year old Sunday School class:

Pastor: We are having a work day tomorrow beginning at 8:00AM.  If possible, please join us.

Will Reynolds:  Wow, I would love to come but I have to be at work.  However, if you (Pastor) will meet me here at 6:00AM then I can work for a couple of hours before going to work.

Pastor:  Not a problem.  I will see you at 6:00AM tomorrow in the CAB.

Will:  Uh. . . . . .

Needless to say, I arrived in the CAB at 5:50AM today and I am still looking for Will!  He should change his last name to Switzer!

WORK DAY A HUGE SUCCESS

A really big “thank you” to the men and women who showed up for the work day this morning – it was a huge success!  We are now ready for the walls to be put in place, followed by the electrical work being done, and then the sheetrock guys can begin to hang the sheetrock.  Those “seasoned” adults really know how to work!

The CAB is closed to any, and all, activity this week except for renovation work.  This includes the normal Wednesday night activities/classes.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

We praise the Lord for His blessings in the effort today.  We serve an awesome God!

MONDAY, 2/28/11

If you find February of 2011, please let me know where it went!  Wow!

First, the doctors determined that Miss Edith Kelley does has some blockages in her arteries but also decided surgery would not be the best option at this time.  So, they will treat her with medication.  She is at home.  Pray for her.

Vivian Lorge (Christy Wynn’s daughter) was involved in a four wheeler accident this past Saturday afternoon.  She was treated at the hospital where she received fifty or so stitches.  Pray for her as she recovers.

Miss Kathleen Henderson (Joey Switzer’s grandmother) will have surgery tomorrow.  Pray for her.

Keep praying for Carla Kyser in her battle against cancer along with all others who are battling cancer.

Mr. George Douglas (Dee Dee’s dad) continues to need our prayers too.  Nancy West’s dad is at home in Texas and she said his outlook on life is good.  He will be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.  Herbert Benefield is having a lot of problems with his neck.  Bro. Sonny Bates is trying to see the doctor for a possible gall bladder surgery.  He was in our service yesterday morning but unable to attend last night.  Pray for these men.

We were blessed by the Lord with a good day yesterday as we saw four public decisions in our 10:30AM service and two more last night.  We saw five professions of faith with each one of those desiring to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism this Sunday evening – praise the Lord!  Also, Dylan Westbrook came forward to say that God has called him to the ministry in some capacity.  Praise the Lord!  We thank God for these decisions.

This morning at 8:00AM we will have a work effort to demolish the east end of the CAB.  I am praying for a good number of folks to show up so we can get the job done fairly quickly.  Special thanks to those who got the rooms ready to be demolished.  John Curl & Kenny Lingle will paint the west end rooms tonight.  Folks, I really appreciate the “mind to work” approach you have.  (I only wish Joe David Bailey & Jason Bowling lived closer as I know they would be present for this work effort!)

Congratulations to the Danville Lady Hawks for winning the regional at Wallace and getting to Birmingham.  Is Paul Wilson a coaching machine or what!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
