TUESDAY, 7/5/11

As pastor, I am so very thankful to God for allowing me to serve Him alongside the Friendship family!  This past Sunday was a really, really blessed day.  It was a holiday weekend yet we saw a really strong attendance in all three of our worship services, baptized eight folks in the evening service, and witnessed a wedding to put the proverbial icing on the cake!  I came home Sunday night in a spirit of great joy because of all God did and for your faithfulness!

Of course, I was also blessed to have twelve members of my family present for the 10:30AM service this past Sunday.  That number included my parents.  We had a great time of fellowship around the table.  I had to leave them to go preach in the 2:00PM service which probably was not one of my brighter moves but it was all good!

It was also a blessing to have Pastor Travis & Amy Northcutt in the 10:30AM service.  I would have had him preach in the evening service if we would have had a “normal” Sunday night.  It is always good to see Pastor Travis.  He will be leading a group of his folks to join Bro. Jerry on the upcoming GRACE Ministries trip.

Yesterday was just a nice relaxing day for me.  Nothing says relaxation like being in Walmart at 6:00AM and then back again at 10:30PM – LOL!  We enjoyed family time and that was capped when Brad, Daphne, Titus & Emmy got home late yesterday afternoon.

Louise Morris is back in the rehab center.  Leasa Salter has a couple of new spots that could possibly require surgery.  The initial spot is healing very nicely per Bernard.  Keep praying for these ladies.

Congratulations to Kyle & Kristen Mast who were married this past Saturday night in Ft. Wayne, IN.  It simply was not possible for me to attend that ceremony and be in the pulpit Sunday morning.  What a great young couple!

Today marks my brother-in-law’s 43rd birthday.  It is hard to believe that he will soon be gone from this world for 25 years.  I only knew Michael for seven years but those were a good seven years.  I am praying for Charles, Ann, Kim & Lisa today.

Back to the proverbial “rat race” today.  I pray that your Tuesday will be great with Jesus.
