SENIOR ADULT SUNDAY

This Sunday, 4/29, we are going to honor God by recognizing our senior adults in our 10:30AM service.  We respectfully request that all of our senior adults attend the second morning service and then join Bro. Kerry as the church treats you to a meal at The Heritage House restaurant.

The Heritage House is owned by Miss Kathleen Henderson.  It is close and it is a buffet which means there will be no wait time on the food.  Bro. Kerry will be driving the bus for those who need transportation.  I anticipate you can easily be back home by 1:00 – 1:15PM which gives you plenty of time to take a Sunday nap before the evening service.

“POTLUCK WITH THE PASTOR”

I forgot yesterday and again today to mention our next “potluck with the pastor” which takes place tomorrow, 4/25, immediately following the morning service.  This will be a fish fry with Blow Joe Guidry, Phil Sims, and Greg Boutwell being the chief cooks.  Lisa and I are furnishing the fish, the drinks, and the bread.  You are asked to bring the trimmings and desserts.  It would also be really neat if you would bring a guest or two!

Folks, this is about so much more than the meal.  It is about the fellowship.  I hope you will join us!

TUESDAY, 4/24/12

Paul Leytham, our great friend/supporter in Guatemala has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  Surgery is not an option so he is receiving an injection once a quarter and taking a pill daily.  I ask you to join me in praying fervently for Paul.

George Taylor, Bro. Chris’ dad, will be discharged from the hospital today.  He will now be under hospice care.  Pray for Mr. George.

Marie Landiss was very, very low when I visited yesterday morning.  I do not know if she has passed already but ask that you pray for her family.

Tim Knighten’s mother was doing well.  She will most likely be in the hospital for a couple of more days.

Miss Exie Woods returned to the convalescent home on Saturday.  She looked better but still seemed to have some congestion.

Merwyn Gunter is not feeling well.  He remains in the convalescent home too.

Charles Clark’s sister, Virginia, is in an assisted living facility in Ocean Springs, MS.  I got to visit with her yesterday and she is doing good.

My pastor friend, Dr. Jack Bailey, is having shoulder surgery this morning.  He has a spur on his rotator cuff.  He thinks it will sideline him for a day or two.  Others think it may be a week or two.  I do not know but do ask you to pray for Dr. Jack.

The White team will be responsible for our GROW ministry tonight.  That begins at 6:30PM.

It is 5:45AM and the computer says it is 41 degrees in Grand Bay.  It does not feel that cold to me but maybe it is.  I do know it feels good but my garden would beg to differ.

If you want my real opinion on Ron Artest, the NBA should sit him for the rest of the season/playoffs as what he did certainly appeared to be intentional.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.
