Lisa and I learned tonight that we will be grandparents again come late February of 2013!  We are blessed and excited!

God is good!  He blessed and we enjoyed a really good Sunday in our services yesterday.  I was blessed by the attendance in all three services as we had a good number of folks away because of the holiday weekend but our attendance was very good.  The Spirit was excellent!  The music was very good.  The preaching was. . . .     Of course, the highlight of the day was seeing Stephen Deangelo make a public profession of faith in our 10:30AM service.  He will be baptized next Sunday night as a part of our evening worship service.

Our Finance Committee did an excellent job (in my opinion) of putting together a proposed budget for the 8/1/12 – 7/31/13 fiscal year and that budget was adopted by the Friendship family last night.  Couple of highlights – we will give 30% to missions (does not include LCMO or AAEO) with the largest amount dollar wise and percentage wise going to the SBC Cooperative Program.  Including the United States, we will be supporting missionaries in eight countries – praise the Lord!

The Personnel Committee announced last night that applications are now being accepted for the position of custodian.  Interested?  Get an application from the church office.  Deadline to submit applications is Sunday, July 22, 2012.

Betty Carol Neal will have surgery this morning.  Hugh Nelson remains hospitalized.  Tommy’s dad is doing about the same and is at home.  John Nelson (no relation to Hugh) was injured in a work accident yesterday.  He works offshore and was flown to New Orleans where he had surgery  yesterday (I think).  Broke all five toes on one foot but the damage was lessened because of steel toe boots.

FYI – no services this Wednesday, 7/4, and the church office will be closed.

Soy has a garden!  His very own.  First one!  He has been taking pictures/video non-stop since he planted it Saturday afternoon.  He is disappointed because it is not “ripe” yet!

Word has it that Courtney Cavin is opening a daycare?  You cannot believe everything you hear so let me investigate.

It is 1:30AM and I am waiting on daybreak so I can hit the okra patch.  I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
