MONDAY, 6/24/13

We were blessed with another good day in our services yesterday.  God is faithful.  We saw one public profession of faith as a result of the student Bible study last Wednesday night.  We thank God for the increase.

The doctors will not take Tanya Love off of life support today.  That decision will be made at a later date.  Keep praying for the family.

Alivia Fox had her tonsils and adenoids surgically removed last week.  She was not able to attend church yesterday.  Pray for her, Tiff, and Mitchel.

Lisa Thompson begins her chemotherapy treatments today.  I hope to get an update from Chastity and Courtney this week.

Miss Nell remains in a convalescent facility.  I found out yesterday that Ralph Rogers is there as well.  Lord willing, I will check on these folks today.

It was good to see Kent Blaylock in our early service yesterday.  Bro. Kerry was able to attend our second service.  Speaking of Bro. Kerry, it is a blessing to see those who are leading our music program during his absence.  They are doing a good job.

Tony Hacker told me that he and I made the big screen last week.  WPMI ran a story on Pastor Mel Hacker’s peanuts and it really was about GRACE Ministries with several pictures from previous trips.  You can go to WPMI’s website and type in Mel Hacker in the search box to view the report.  I am expecting royalties!

The garden is hopping right now and I thank God for His blessings.  Did I ever make a crucial mistake in Saturday’s blog!  Daphne says that she and Ann shucked more corn last week than anyone on this hill but were not included on the list.  (I was just going by the list Deidra gave me – or something like that!)  Of course, my garden pales in comparison to Will & Amy Reynold’s and Dr. Jack Bailey’s!  One day, I hope to be like them!  Waiting on daylight to pick okra and pull the last of the corn.  Peas this afternoon.

The chicken coop is no operational yet.  However, we got three dozen eggs yesterday.  Pretty good production!  (Thanks Herbert & Peggy!)

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 6/22/13

The visitation with the Clyde Collins family takes place today from 11:00AM until 3:30PM.  The service begins at 3:30PM.  Everything is at Radney’s Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in Mobile.  The interment takes place in the Grand Bay Cemetery.

Again, all food for the Collins family must be in the fellowship hall by 3:00PM today.  Thank you to those who are ministering to this family.

The baby shower for Grant & Katie Tillman is from 10:30AM until noon today.  It will take place here at our house.  All women from the Friendship family are invited to attend.  It is a girl or boy!

Summer McGriff remains in the hospital and will do so until the baby is born.

Saw Jerry & Sandra and Miss Annette last night.  They said that Miss Nell Mulkey is doing okay.  They think she realizes that she is in a convalescent facility.  Pray for her.

Bro. Kerry continues to recover at home.

I have to give props to Soy, Brad, Charles, Deidra & Lisa.  They kept the garden picked while I was away and mowed all of the grass.  As a bonus, Soy built shelves in the barn, put up reels for the water hoses, and is in the process of finishing a chicken coop.  (We do not have any chickens but we do have a nice coop!)  I am not real sure what has overcome this group – do they know something that I do not?  Has salvation come?

Hope to be joined by many members of the Friendship family in the services tomorrow.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus!

FRIDAY, 6/21/13

The visitation with the Clyde Collins family will take place tomorrow, 6/22, beginning at 11:00AM and ending when the service begins at 3:30PM.  The visitation and service will take place from Radney’s Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in Mobile.  The burial will take place in the Grand Bay Cemetery.  Pray for the Collins family.

I do not know if there is still need for food for the Collins family and the after service meal.  You can contact Amy Huhn or Miss Vinnie Brewer for the details.  I do know that all food needs to be taken to the fellowship hall no later than 3:00PM tomorrow.

Summer McGriff has been placed in the hospital and will remain there until after the baby is born.  Pray for Summer and the baby.

Liz Cole e-mailed to tell me that the doctors will be removing the life support from Tanya Love this coming Monday, 6/24.  Pray for her husband, Jack, and the three children.

The baby shower for Grant & Katie Tillman takes place tomorrow morning, 6/22, from 10:30AM until noon.  It will be held at our house and everyone is invited.

We are on a regular schedule this Sunday – morning and evening.  I hope to be joined by many members of the Friendship family in those services.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

CLYDE COLLINS PASSES FROM THIS LIFE

Word came to me from numerous sources that Clyde Collins passed from this life earlier today.  His daughters, Sandy & Candy, are involved with the Friendship family.  Pray for Miss Ann and all of the family.  Arrangements will be posted here once they are finalized.

Clyde Collins is in a local hospital in his battle against cancer.

Rob Nevin’s mother, Barbara, remains in a convalescent home facility as does Miss Nell Mulkey.

We want to continue to pray for those battling cancer.

MONDAY, 6/17/13

One of the best things that I can report this morning is that Bro. Kerry was in the 10:30AM service yesterday.  Obviously, he is not fully recovered from his surgery but that serves as an indicator that he is on his way.  Keep praying.

Kent Blaylock hopes to be discharged from the hospital today.  He is doing well in his recovery.

We need to continue to pray for those battling cancer.

Lisa tells me that Bro. Johnny did his usual good job in preaching the Word yesterday.  I am thankful to him for always being willing to come preach.  Thank you to those from the Friendship family who were faithful to attend the services.

Jonathan & Precious Mast and their children were also in our second service yesterday morning.  I really hate that I was not there to worship and fellowship with them.  Lisa has spoken very highly of them.

Today is Father’s Day in Guatemala.  The 4:00AM fireworks gave us the clue!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 6/13/13

I begin by saying that I do not have any updates on the folks for whom we have been praying.  I will hopefully give a report in tomorrow’s entry.

Bro. Johnny Tucker and his team left the mission house yesterday morning.  Lord willing, he will be filling the pulpit at Friendship for all three services this Sunday, 6/16.  We will continue to receive the 2013 VBS offering with hopes of raising at least $2,500 to sponsor a Christian workers’ conference in the Philippines.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 6/13/13

Kent Blaylock will be having surgery this morning.  He was diagnosed with colon cancer a couple of weeks ago.  Pray that all will go well.

Miss Ica Walley has been admitted to the hospital.  They are running tests.

Miss Nell Mulkey has been moved from the hospital to a convalescent home facility.

Forty-five folks will be traveling from Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile this morning bound for Guatemala.  It is 3:30AM in Guatemala and Bro. Johnny and team are leaving now headed to the airport in order to fly home.  Pray for all of these travelers.

Donald Butler, you have lost your mind!  (Comment on yesterday’s second post)  I did hear that the news of a baby caused the expectant father’s hair to stand straight up!

I have to give credit where credit is due!  Soy has been tending to the garden in my absence.  He picked a few peas and some corn yesterday.  (He also sprayed the peas which is the first spraying of the year for us)  He sent me a picture of the corn and it looked really good!  I finished the snap beans before I left and my sweet mother-in-law, Ann, canned almost 80 quarts of them.  Good stuff!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus!

WORD ON THE STREET

is that someone in the Friendship family is expecting a baby!  Is it true or just an illusion?
