TUESDAY, 7/23/13

Liz Cole posted the funeral arrangements for Tanya Love on yesterday’s blog entry.  The visitation with the family took place last night.  The funeral service will be today, 7/23, at 2:00PM from the Pinecrest Funeral Home on DIP.  Pray for Jack and the family.

Sandy Felps, Ginny Easterling, and Joyce Davie all had heart caths done yesterday.  All three got good reports.

I do not have an update on Bob Henley but do know he continues to need our prayers as do all of those battling cancer.

We are on a regular schedule for tomorrow with one exception.  We will not have the 7:30PM Bible study at our house as many of those young adults are on the mission trip.  Bro. Jerry Hovel will be preaching in the 10:00AM and 6:30PM services.

Ladies, there will be a wedding shower for Mary Cole this Sunday, 7/28, in the fellowship hall.  I am not sure of the time but I do encourage you to support Gauge and Mary by attending this shower.

Also, this Sunday evening is going to be a very special service.  Pastor Lance Nicholson and his church family will be joining us for that service.

Deacon election this Sunday night too.  Make this a matter of prayer.

Pray for revival.  Pray for Pastor Jack Bailey.  Keep the dates of August 4 – 7 open and be in attendance for the services.  We will meet at 8:00AM, 10:30AM, and 6:00PM on Sunday.  Monday – Wednesday will see us meet at 6:30PM nightly.  Pray!

I hope that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 7/22/13

Ginny Easterling, Sandy Felps, and Joyce Davie will all have surgical procedures today.  Pray for these ladies and their respective procedures.

Lisa Thompson will receive another treatment today too.  Pray for her and all those battling cancer.

Barbara Kelley has been having some problems and “may” have her gall bladder removed later this week.

I do not know the arrangements on Tanya Love but ask you to pray for the family.

Phil Morgan’s mother is in the hospital.

Baby Abigail remains hospitalized too.

I have not gotten a full report on yesterday’s services so I will not make comment except to say that I appreciate Bro. Jim Chinners and Bro. Benny McGath preaching in my absence.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 7/21/13

Just received word that Tanya Love, Liz Cole’s sister-in-law, passed from this life shortly after midnight.  It has been a long journey for Tanya, Jack, Tanya’s children, and the entire family.  Pray for them.

Adam Hensley from Danville, AL attended Friendship during his days at USA.  He has been on a GRACE trip with us.  His father, Roger, passed away and that service takes place tomorrow.  Pray for the Hensley family.

We are on a regular schedule today/tonight.  I pray the members of the Friendship family will be found faithful.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 7/20/13

The fundraiser for the ministry organization started by Bro. Robbie Howard (RHCMA) takes place today beginning at 10:30AM.  It will be on Highway 90 directly across from where you turn to go to the middle school.

Today marks Bro. Robbie’s 85th birthday.  I still find it difficult to believe that he is no longer with us.

Sandy Felps will have a surgical procedure on Monday.  This is related to her heart.

Joe David and his team leave today heading back to Danville.  They have been a blessing.  Pray for their safety in travel.

We are on a regular schedule tomorrow.  As you know, I am on a GRACE Ministries trip.  This is one of those Sundays where the spiritual maturity of the Friendship family is tested.  You have done well thus far this Summer and I pray that tomorrow will be another strong indication of your commitment to the Lord.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus!

FRIDAY, 7/19/13

Obviously, I have no way of knowing how many members of the Friendship family attended the visitation with the Suthoff family last night.  My hope is that many did and I say “thank you” to all those who went to support Bernard, Pattie, and family during this time.  The funeral service takes place at 10:00AM today from the chapel of Holder-Wells funeral home.  Pray for the Suthoff family.

Brooke got a good word from the doctor this week regarding Lane.  She, or any of her family members, can give you the details.  It is good and they are giving God the glory – amen!

Sanna’s niece, Chastity, had a surgical procedure performed this past Tuesday.  She is now facing surgery in about a month.

Brenda Timberlake has much on her plate as her sister, Lisa, has another treatment on Monday and her mother, Miss Joyce, is also having some serious health issues.  Pray for these ladies.

Keep praying for Bob Henley and his family.  Tanya Love’s situation remains unchanged as far as I know.

The fundraiser for the Robbie Howard Christian Ministries Association takes place tomorrow, 7/20, from the Trading Post in Grand Bay.  It begins at 10:30AM (I think).  If you get a chance, go by and support them by purchasing a meal or whatever.

Joe David and his team leave tomorrow.  I thank them for all they have done this past week.  I thank Bro. Chris for his help which has been tremendous!  I thank each person who allowed the team to do work for them.  I thank those who provided “tons” of food!  I thank the Friendship family for allowing the team to use our buildings.  It has all been good.  I can honestly say that Joe David Bailey “outworked” me this week when it comes to working with the team.  That hurts!  I know Jason Bowling is proud of JD!

We are on a regular schedule this Sunday,  I pray that each member of the Friendship family who is in town will be in his/her rightful place.  Who is preaching?  A couple of really good guys who will bring a good Word.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 7/18/13

This blog is being typed as I sit in the Mobile airport waiting to board a flight to ATL and then one to Guatemala City.  We have folks flying from here, Gulfport, Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta and Grand Rapids.  As we are leaving, the team being led by Bro. Jerry is returning.  Pray for both teams to have traveling mercies today.

I ask the members of the Friendship family, if at all possible, to attend the visitation with Bernard Suthoff and family tonight.  They will be at the Holder Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS.  The service will also take place from HW and that begins at 10:00AM tomorrow.  Pray for Bernard and his family.

On Saturday, 8/3, a group of men will host a men’s breakfast in the fellowship hall beginning at 8:00AM.  All men are invited to attend this time of food and fellowship.  Contact Jeff Holifield or Jim Chinners if you have questions or need more information.

We are moving high tech as we are about to give you the opportunity to receive text alerts from me.  This will allow you to be immediately updated without having to go to the computer.  We have a limited number of slots for this service so we will ask that it be limited to one person per family.  More details will come soon.

The gate agent is calling for us to board.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 7/17/13

Baby Abigail had surgery late yesterday afternoon.  Summer sent a text at 6:00PM to say that everything went smoothly and they were able to close her up just a bit.

Bernard & Pattie arrived home between 9:00 & 10:00PM last night.  They drove about 950 miles yesterday.  Two of our deacons were there to minister to them upon their arrival home.  I posted the obituary for Miss Suthoff yesterday afternoon.  Edna was checking with Miss Suthoff’s church to see if we need to help with food.  I will let you know.

Joe David and the Danville crew had another good day of ministry yesterday.  I “think” some are going to the Mobile campus of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home today while others will do ministry in Grand Bay.  I could be wrong – imagine that!

We are on a regular schedule this morning (10:00AM) and tonight (6:30PM).  I pray that the members of the Friendship family will be faithful!

I need revival!  Do you?  Pray for revival.  Pray for Pastor Jack Bailey as he will be our revivalist for the week.  As a matter of fact, consider sending him an e-mail or card of encouragement.  His address is jack@danvillebaptist.org.  His USPS address is P.O. Box 70 Danville, AL 35619.  Reserve the dates of Sunday morning, 8/4, through Wednesday night, 8/7, and be present for the services.

The team being led by Bro. Jerry has their final day in Guatemala today.  Pray for them as they make plans to head home tomorrow.

Did you read about the man in Brazil who was killed on July 10th when a one ton cow fell through the roof of his house crushing him as he slept?  Wow!  True story.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 7/16/13

Bernard Suthoff’s mother unexpectedly passed away last night.  She was taken to the hospital yesterday and was placed in MICU.  The doctors were not certain what caused her death.  Pray for the family.  Bernard and Pattie were in the mountains on vacation.  Not sure if they drove home last night or are doing so this morning.

Baby Abigail did not have surgery yesterday.  It will most likely take place at some point today.

Laurie Chandler commented on Sunday’s blog entry about her dad’s condition.

Tanya Love’s condition remains unchanged as far as I know.  Liz will update me as changes take place.

Speaking of Liz, there will be a wedding shower for her daughter, Mary, on Sunday afternoon, 7/28.  More details to come.  Mary and Gauge Holmes were married on Friday, 7/5.

Bro. Jerry posted some updates on the GRACE blog regarding their team and trip.

Joe David and the Danville team did a ton of work yesterday.  The yards they worked in look really, really great.  If the next four days of work go like the first day, wow!  Thanks to those who brought the sweets for them yesterday as well as those, Diane Vickers & Maria Wainwright (I think).  We are now set on sweets for the week.

Bro. Chris is to be commended for a job well done in helping the Danville team.  He has been an awesome asset to them.  Logan Wainwright & Seth Bosarge have also been right there with them.  Seth has ten stitches in his hand to prove it – ouch!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 7/14/13

A blessed Sunday!  God is so faithful to us as a church family.  The services were good with folks at the altar in all three services.  No public decisions but we thank God for folks responding to the Spirit’s leading.

Joe David did a good job of sharing the Word with us in last night’s service.  One of the better messages on tithing I have ever heard.  I appreciate Joe David and the ministry God has given him.

Amazingly, Tanya Love continues to live.  They took her off of life support last Thursday thinking it would only be a matter of time with the longest time being two days.  Only God knows!

Bob Henley is at home.  He has a way to go in his recovery from surgery and decisions to make regarding possible treatments.

Baby Abigail McGriff will have another surgery today.

It was good to have the students from Danville Baptist with us in our services.  They have been very well mannered and polite (well with the exception of the Garnett girls!).  They plan on working tomorrow beginning around 8:00AM.

Thanks to those from the 8:00AM service who volunteered to bring cookies, brownies and cakes for the Danville team.  Today’s volunteers are Vera Bosarge, Courtney Cavin, Sanna Collier, Carla Cooper and Gloria Whitmore.  You can bring those goodies to the church office any time before 5:00PM.  We need a couple of more volunteers for tomorrow (Tuesday) night.

It was good to have Bro. Kerry in the morning and evening services yesterday.  He is making progress and I think he sees the doctor again tomorrow.  Keep praying.

Revival dates – Sunday morning, August 4, 2013, through Wednesday evening, August 7, 2013.  Sunday services at 8:00AM, 10:30AM and 6:00PM.  Monday – Wednesday services at 6:30PM.  Revivalist – Pastor Jack Bailey.  Pray without ceasing for revival!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
