MONDAY, 9/16/13 UPDATED

Tony Barnes was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon as he was experiencing chest pains.  After examination, they sent him home and said his pain was due to a cracked rib or two from a fall earlier in the week.  Upped his pain meds.  Peggy just sent me an update on his condition.  Glad he is well.

Betty Clair’s Aunt Helen also took a fall over the weekend.  It is my understanding that she broke a hip and was scheduled to possibly have surgery in Birmingham yesterday.

I forgot to mention that Adrianna Arriola and Alexus Blackwell both came forward for baptism in last night’s service.  We will baptize again this Sunday evening as a part of our service.

Blessings!

MONDAY, 9/16/13

We were blessed with another wonderful day in our services yesterday.  We welcomed Raja & Lucretia into our fellowship by transfer of letter.  What a joy to see five folks stir the baptismal waters as a part of the evening service.  (Thanks to Bill Kendrick for the assist)  God gives the increase and we continue to give Him the glory.

Numerically, we were good with just under 500 in the morning services and a little over 200 in the evening service.  Yes, there is room for improvement but I am grateful for those who are faithful.

Our deacons met last and elected officers for this church year.  Here they are:  chairman – Sonny Bates, vice-chairman – Carl Ray Moulds, and secretary Bill Kendrick.

Janice Smith & Juanita Gulley’s mother, Miss Mazie Wilson, is in ICU.  Her problem relates to her heart.

Courtney Cavin’s nephew, Connor, remains hospitalized.  Courtney will give birth at some point this week to baby Christalina.

Tyrone & Michael Crawley’s mother, Miss Arlene, could possibly have surgery later this week.

Lindsey Vice’s maternal grandmother and Emogene Riviere are both in a tough fight with cancer.

Was I worried when Bama fell behind by 14 to A&M?  Serious?  I knew we had them right where we wanted them or something like that.   I told you that Auburn would beat State.  Bama has now played one good defense (VT) and a tremendous offense.  They will not see another offense like that in the regular season.  Folks, a win is a win and I was happy to see Bama leave Texas with a “W” in their pocket.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
