CAROLYN BLAYLOCK ENTERS HEAVEN

Carolyn Blaylock departed this life for an eternal home in Heaven this morning around 9:30AM.  She was surrounded by her husband, two daughters, other family members and friends as she passed peacefully.

The family will meet with the funeral director later today to make the arrangements.  We will post those arrangements on this blog once they have been completed.  Pray for the Blaylock family.

PRAYERS FOR CAROLYN BLAYLOCK (Updated)

It is 4:00AM and Larry Blackwell just called to tell me that Carolyn is being placed on a ventilator.  I am leaving now to go be with Trish and other family members.  Pray!

Update  (8:05AM) – honoring Carolyn’s wishes, the family decided against placing her on the ventilator.  The doctors do not anticipate that Carolyn will live through the day.  Only God knows.  Pray for Kent, the girls, and the rest of the family as they wait here at the hospital.

TUESDAY, 3/18/14

Today’s Bible reading – Numbers 26:52-28:15, Luke 3:1-22, Psalm 61:1-8, Proverbs 11:16-17

Carolyn Blaylock was placed into ICU last night due to an extremely elevated temperature.  I went by to visit her in the rehab center yesterday afternoon but did not awaken her as she was sleeping very soundly.

Coley Johnson’s step mother (Tommy’s sister-in-law) suffered a stroke on Saturday night and was taken into surgery.  She was kept sedated until yesterday morning.  She remembers nothing and does not have full use of the right side of her body.

Mac’s nephew, Coleman, came out of surgery around 7:00AM yesterday morning.  The surgery lasted ten hours.  He is doing well considering the procedure.

Miss Kathleen Henderson seemed to be doing much better when I visited her yesterday morning.  She said she thought she was going home but I do not know if that happened.

Mary & Jack are doing well.  I suspect they will go home tomorrow (my speculation only!).

I am hearing that Sharon’s great grandson will be having surgery – possibly today.

The funeral service for Darrell’s mother takes place this morning in Illinois.

Saw Gloria Massingill in the hospital yesterday.  Her husband, Kenny, was undergoing a four hour surgical procedure on his heart.  Kenny & Gloria are faithful members of 1st Baptist St. Elmo.

All of the residents that I visited in the convalescent home seemed to be doing pretty good.  Miss Woods was in the bed which is very unusual for her.  Miss Mulkey said that she did not feel well.  Same for Rob’s mother.  Kevin’s mother was being wheeled down to join in a bingo game but she told me that she had never heard of such!  Miss Morgan seemed well and should be going home late this week or early next week.  Miss Lillie and Miss Marie were their usual lively selves.  Miss Phoebe was sitting in the hallway as she often does and was feeling well.  Miss Ora said she was good too.

Taking Miriam Mast to the airport early today for her flight to Chicago.  What a sweetheart!  We enjoyed her being with us for a few days.

I do not really care for these “first” round games in the NCAA basketball tourney but I do enjoy the first weekend as there are always upsets and usually some great games.  I have not completed a bracket yet but I will either go with Michigan State or Florida to win it all.  Joe David says either Florida or Louisville but he does not know a lot about basketball!

Had to get a possum out of my chicken coop last night.  Soy said no varmint could get in – good job, Soy!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.
