I have no idea how many folks are able to read this today, 7/20.  I am in hopes that of the eight regular readers of the blog, at least two can open this.  Maybe Bro. Chris can get us back up and running soon.  I could do it but I feel the experience would benefit Bro. Chris as he is attempting to learn more about computers, websites, et cetera.

Regular schedule today and tonight.  Funeral service for Earl Kirschenman at 2:00PM preceded by an hour of visitation with the family.  Discussion meeting about the proposed budget at 4:00PM.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 7/17/14 (SECOND ENTRY)

I failed to mention in this morning’s earlier post that there will be a wedding reception this Saturday, 7/19, for Rusty & Caryn Suthoff.  The reception begins at 5:00PM and will take place in the CAB.  All members of the Friendship family are invited to attend.

I also failed to give a huge “thank you” to Bro. Benny McGath for filling in for me last night.  I had every intention of being back from Birmingham but realized late morning that was not going to happen.  So, Bro. Benny had a very short notice to get ready to preach/teach and I am told he did a really good job.  I am thankful to him!

THURSDAY, 7/17/14 (UPDATED)

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Chronicles 24:1-26:11 Romans 4:1-12 Psalm 13:1-6 Proverbs 19:15-16

On the revival prayer point today – Rick Bradley, Jr, Drew & Andrea Timberlake     wade@wademorris.com

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 7/18 – Rusty Suthoff, Larry & Judy Whitehurst

On the revival prayer point Saturday, 7/19 – Anna Carol Bosarge, Kittie Camp, Bill Kendrick

Need twenty five more folks to join this revival prayer ministry to put us at one hundred twenty different folks.  Will you be one of this one hundred twenty?  Call me at 445 5416 and leave a message.

Update – this came from Bro. Johnny Tucker and I think it refers to today: “Few words to give update and ask for prayers. Tomorrow will bring crucial decision. My Cardiologist is conferring with infection specialist about the best thing to do with my infection . Surgery to replace my defibrillator seems the best way to go. However, this will be a major ordeal because in placing a new defibrillator in new location means replacing my wires to my heart and this is a dangerous surgery because they will have to remove barbs from my heart walls and put more into my heart wall.”

Our daughter, Daphne, will go into surgery early this morning.  It will be done on an outpatient basis so she should be home by late morning if all goes well.

Bro. Jerry’s GRACE team is scheduled to fly from Guatemala early this morning.  Those arriving in Mobile should do so early afternoon.  Pray for their safety in travel.

As far as I know, GO camp is doing well.

Yesterday was a very long day for me spiritually and emotionally.  I was at UAB at 4:10AM, left there around 7:00PM and arrived home at midnight.  Craig did very well sitting in the hospital all day.  He and I both got some work done – me on a mission trip and he on “his” work.  I was glad Lisa was with me for a multitude of reasons but especially when it came to driving the last two hours.  Special thanks to Craig & Jennifer Moss for their help yesterday too – it is nice to have friends!  Scott & Jennifer and Craig’s lives changed drastically when Earl passed last night.  A memorial service for Earl Kirschenman will take place at a yet to be determined date.

Copies of the proposed budget for 2014-15 were distributed last night.  They are available through this Sunday morning, 7/20.  A discussion meeting takes place at 4:00PM in the auditorium this Sunday, 7/20.  A vote, no further discussion, takes place as a part of the evening service.  Again, I am thankful to our Finance Committee members for a job well done in my opinion.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 7/16/14

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Chronicles 22:1-23:32 Romans 3:9-31 Psalm 12:1-8 Proverbs 19:13-14

On the revival prayer point today – Jeff & Nadine Holifield, Amy Reynolds

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 7/17 – Rick Bradley, Jr, Drew & Andrea Timberlake

On the revival prayer point Friday, 7/18 – Rusty Suthoff, Larry & Judy Whitehurst

This entry is being written from the waiting room in the UAB hospital.  They took Earl Kirschenman from his hospital room around 5:45AM.  His surgery is scheduled to begin at 7:00AM.  It is expected to be a lengthy procedure.  Earl has problems with his heart but his surgery is for an aneurysm near his kidney.  Too complicated for me to explain but suffice it to say that it is a very serious surgery.  Pray for Earl!

Remember, we are NOT having our 10:00AM service today.  We are on a regular schedule for tonight’s service, classes, et cetera.

Copies of the proposed budget for our next fiscal year (August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2015) will be available in tonight’s service.  Finance committee chairman, TJ Vice, will have those along with the latest financial statement and some information on the missions division of the budget.

I am hearing that the GO camp is going well.  I did not get any updates from Bro. Jerry’s team in Guatemala.  That may be because of no internet connection?  I do not know their plans for today.  Pray for them to have a good last day of ministry.

Lisa and I were able to meet Eddie & Sue and my younger brother, Freddie, for supper last night in Fultondale.  Yes, I got stuck with the bill again – thankfully Lisa still has Charles’ credit card!  Eddie & Sue leave this Sunday heading back to China so it was good to spend some more time with them.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 7/15/14

Today’s Bible reading – 1 Chronicles 19:1-21:30 Romans 2:25-3:8 Psalm 11:1-7 Proverbs 19:10-12

On the revival prayer point today – Vera Bosarge, Courtney Cavin, Teresa Ladnier    wade@wademorris.com

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 7/16 – Jeff & Nadine Holifield, Amy Reynolds

IMPORTANT – we will NOT have our 10:00AM service tomorrow. I need for those reading this entry who normally attend that service to call anyone you can think of who attends but may not read the blog.  (We only have eight regular readers)  The evening schedule for tomorrow will take place as usual.  This only applies to the morning service.  Kayla, will you please call Laura?

Earl Kirschenman will be having a very serious heart surgery tomorrow morning.  Please keep him in your prayers and pray for the surgeons involved.  Pray for Scott, Craig and the family as they wait beside him.

Robert Baria is at home.  I am assuming they will be doing in home physical therapy now.  Pray for him and Roseanne.

Evangelist Johnny Tucker is in the hospital or so I hear FB says.  Has to do with an infection around his defibrillator.

My dad is having eye surgery this morning.

Lisa and I learned late last week that we were going to be grandparents for the seventh time.  That excitement ceased yesterday as Daphne has had a miscarriage.  She will have a surgical procedure early Thursday morning.  Pray for Brad and Daphne.

Bro. Chris and the students arrived safe and sound at camp.  They had their first service last night and I am told it was “great” which is about all I can get from a teen.  Pray for them to have a spiritual week.  Maybe our revival will begin in Toccoa, Georgia?  That would be awesome!

Bro. Jerry and team are doing well in Guatemala.  I am hearing they will finish the house building tomorrow and also do the dedications.  Maybe that will give them the opportunity do some other ministry such as love on the children at the ministry center, minister at the local dump, Love the Child, Casa Aleluya, et cetera on Wednesday.  Sometimes those unexpected ministry opportunities provide the greatest reward.  It will be exciting to hear what God has in store for them.

I have not gotten the sign up sheet for the revival prayer ministry from the auditorium yet.  I will do that today and make the assignments.  They will be posted here and in the news & notes each Sunday.  Pray for revival!

Copies of the proposed budget will be available in the service tomorrow night.  Folks not able to attend that service can have a copy mailed to them by simply calling the church office.  Discussion meeting in the auditorium at 4:00PM on Sunday.  Vote on the proposed budget with no further discussion in the evening service.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

We had a really good response to the revival prayer ministry in the services yesterday.  It is 4:00AM and that list remains in the auditorium.  I will get it today and make assignments accordingly.  I suspect we are still going to need prayer partners to reach our goal of 120 different folks praying each day for revival.

Good services yesterday.  We give God the glory!  Our focus is on revival!  I (we?) need it!

Bro. Chris and our students leave this morning at 6:00AM headed to camp in Toccoa, Georgia.  Pray that this will be a spiritual week!

Received an e-mail from Bro. Jerry during the night.  Their Sunday was “normal” by Guatemala trip standards.  All is well.

The copies of the proposed budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year will be available in our services this Wednesday, 7/16.  The discussion meeting will take place at 4:00PM this Sunday, 7/20.  A vote, with no further discussion, will then take place as a part of that evening’s service.  I commend our Finance Committee members for a job well done.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
