TUESDAY, 8/19/14

Today’s Bible reading – Esther 4:1-7:10 1 Corinthians 12:1-26 Psalm 36:1-12 Proverbs 21:21-22

A really good night in our service last night.  Wade did a very nice job of sharing with us from Mark 8.  No public decisions but a number of folks at the altar.  Good attendance but we can do better.  I am praying for a packed house tonight.  So, if each person who attended last night will come tonight and just twenty five percent bring one person with them we will be at capacity plus.  Pretty simple concept.

There were a number of regulars who were missing last night.  I want to encourage each member of the Friendship family to give priority to the services tonight and tomorrow night.  We begin at 6:30PM with Wade getting the pulpit around 6:45PM.  Pray, attend, bring others to the service.

It was Caitlin Trehern’s paternal great grandmother who passed away on Sunday.  I do not have the details but do know the service will be on Thursday.

Charles Wainwright’s sister also passed away.  The visitation with her family takes place on Thursday night beginning at 5:00PM.  The service will be at 11:00AM on Friday.  Visitation and service from the Independent Church of God in Bayou La Batre.  Pray for these two families.

Daphne’s count continues to increase which is not a good thing.  She received two chemo shots yesterday.  Today she will be seeing an oncologist who is taking over her treatment plan.  She used to work with him and is very confident in him as a doctor.  Pray that he will know exactly what to do to get her count to zero.  God is able!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.  Attend the service tonight!

TWO DEATHS

Word came to me last night that Charles Wainwright’s sister passed from this life yesterday.

Also, Caitlin Trehern’s grandmother passed away last night.

At this point, those are all of the details I have.  Will update either later today or in tomorrow’s entry.  Pray for these families.

MONDAY, 8/18/14

Today’s Bible reading – Esther 1:1-3:15 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 Psalm 35:17-28 Proverbs 21:19-20

Tuesday, 8/19 – Esther 4:1-7:10 1 Corinthians 12:1-26 Psalm 36:1-12 Proverbs 21:21-22

Wednesday, 8/20 – Esther 8:1-10:3 1 Corinthians 12:27- 13:13 Psalm 37:1-11 Proverbs 21:23-24

Thursday, 8/21 – Job 1:1-3:26 1 Corinthians 14:1-17 Psalm 37:12-29 Proverbs 21:25-26

Friday, 8/22 – Job 4:1-7:21 1 Corinthians 14:18-40 Psalm 37:30-40 Proverbs 21:27

Saturday, 8/23 – Job 8:1-11:20 1 Corinthians 15:1-28 Psalm 38:1-22 Proverbs 21:28-29

Sunday, 8/24 – Job 12:1-15:35 1 Corinthians 15:29-58 Psalm 39:1-13 Proverbs 21:30-31

Really good services yesterday!  God really used Wade to preach the Word to us.  We had around twenty folks respond to the invitation in the second morning service.  Three of those came back last night to make their decision public.  We will be following up on the others.  We give God the glory for all He did!

I ask the members of the Friendship family to spend the day praying, inviting, and planning on being in attendance for tonight’s service.  We will begin promptly at 6:30PM and plan to Wade in the pulpit by 6:45PM.  If you cannot get to the service by 6:30PM, come when you can.

We can use help in the nursery for tonight’s service.  Call the church office or contact Liz Cole directly if you will help.  Important!

It was good to have Student Pastor Joe David Bailey with us in last night’s service.  He has to be in New Orleans today so it worked out for him to join us.  Pray for him as he takes a class today and travels home this afternoon.

Alan asked and she said yes!  Hallelujah!  I do not know the details but I do know that Alan proposed to Henni last night.  I do not believe in long engagements so my hope is they can be married by 3:00PM today!  At worse, get married in tonight’s service!

Daphne goes for her second chemo shot today.  Deidra’s joint has popped out of place again.  Thanks for praying for them.

Soy is celebrating a birthday today.  He wants a ninja turtles stretchkins but I do not think Deidra is going to get one for him.  Maybe for Christmas!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.  Attend the service tonight!

SATURDAY, 8/16/14

Today’s Bible reading – Nehemiah 11:1-12:26 1 Corinthians 10:14-33 Psalm 34:11-22 Proverbs 21;14-16

On the revival prayer point today – Ginny Easterling, Max Peacock, Sarah Thornton    wade@wademorris.com

A neighbor of Bill Unrue is seemingly near passing from this life.  Marisa Felps alerted me to this situation and asks that we pray for this person and the family.

I would ask you to join me in praying for Wade Morris today.  I realize that Ginny, Max & Sarah are on the prayer point today but I am asking each of you to take a few extra minutes today to pray.  Wade will drive from Birmingham tonight so pray for traveling mercies.  Pray for good physical rest once he gets to the hotel.  Pray for a word from God to Wade for us.  Pray for a liberty to preach the Word!

I did not hear from Liz Cole yesterday regarding the nursery workers.  My prayer is that the members of the Friendship family responded faithfully.  Again, this is an important aspect of the revival services.

We will have the service tonight at 6:00PM.  I think I am preaching.  At least I have prepared to preach.

Happy first birthday to our youngest grandchild, Nora!

Our “hard headed” daughter, Deidra, gave in yesterday and has now taken a leave of absence from work.  She will not be able to return until after the baby is born (due date mid October) and her body has recovered.  It is a wise move on her part even though she has many concerns.  I applaud her principal, Ms Rogers, and co-teachers for helping point her in this direction.  One of her parents came down fairly hard on her yesterday morning as well.  Pray for Deidra.  It hurts me to watch her walk.

Hooray for the Navy and their latest decision!

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.  Pray for revival!  Attend church tomorrow!

FRIDAY, 8/15/14

Today’s Bible reading – Nehemiah 9:22-10:39 1 Corinthians 9:19-10:13 Psalm 34:1-10 Proverbs 21;13

On the revival prayer point today – Robert & Roseanne Baria, Sierra Edwards

Saturday, 8/16 – Ginny Easterling, Max Peacock, Sarah Thornton      wade@wademorris.com

Yesterday was a quiet day.  I spent the day trying to catch up on e-mails and a lot of time on the telephone.  Honestly, I worked from the house as that was the quietest place for me.

The day is almost here!  Evangelist Wade Morris will be our special guest beginning this Sunday, 8/17, at 8:00AM.  I am praying that the members of the Friendship family will keep praying, attend faithfully and bring others to the services.

We need nursery workers for the 8:00AM service on Sunday, the 6:00PM service on Sunday, and the 6:30PM service on Monday. Folks, this is a very, very important part of our revival services.  Please call Liz Cole today!  Thank you in advance for your sweet spirit of cooperation!

I am not a doctor but I have diagnosed Deidra’s problem – she is hard headed!  (Wonder where she gets that from?)  She continues to struggle with her pain.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.

THURSDAY, 8/14/14

Today’s Bible reading – Nehemiah 7:73-9:21 1 Corinthians 9:1-18 Psalm 33:12-22 Proverbs 21:11-12

On the revival prayer point today – Kayla Bradley, Katie Erwin, Brad & Daphne Hutto

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 8/15 – Robert & Roseanne Baria, Sierra Edwards

On the revival prayer point Saturday, 8/16 – Ginny Easterling, Max Peacock, Sarah Thornton

Learned last night in the service that Wanda Jordan’s mother-in-law, Betty, is in the hospital.  Also, her sister, Jean, is hospitalized.

Also learned that Bobby Jack & Sandy’s newest grandchild remains in the hospital.

I have listed the final three days or our “on the revival prayer point” assignments.  I appreciate each person who has joined in this emphasis and ask that we all pray fervently over these next few days.

Lisa and I left for Silas, AL immediately after I preached in the morning service yesterday.  We arrived at the church for the funeral service at 12:20PM which was in time to hear Bro. Ernest & Bro. Johnny Tucker share about their sister, Margaret Ann.  We got to see Pastor Jack Bailey, Pastor Joe David Bailey, Pastor Sammy Evans, Pastor Scotty Hogan, Pastor Lucky Teague, Pastor Eddie Brunson, Pastor Don Newton, a number of folks from North Alabama and of course Margaret Ann’s family members.  Plus, we saw our nephew, Josh.  It was good!

Pastor Jack Bailey borrowed lunch money from me for him, Joe David and Mandy to eat on the way home.  Wanted $50 but I only gave him $30!  (Or something like that!)  Claimed he gave all of his money in Dale’s love offering on Sunday!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.  Pray for revival!

WEDNESDAY, 8/13/14

Today’s Bible reading – Nehemiah 5:14-7:73 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 Psalm 33:1-11 Proverbs 21:8-10

On the revival prayer point today – Kyle Bryant, Brooke Ladnier, Caryn Suthoff, James Thorne   wade@wademorris.com

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 8/14 – Kayla Bradley, Katie Erwin, Brad & Daphne Hutto

The funeral service for Margaret Ann Glenn takes place today at noon in Silas, Alabama.  I plan on preaching/teaching the morning service and then head directly to Silas.  My hope is to arrive in time for the committal service.  Lord willing, I will be back for the entirety of the evening service.

Daphne had her first chemo shot on Monday.  She did well until yesterday afternoon when she began to feel some of the effects.  Thank you for your continued prayers for her.

Spoke to my dad last night as he had gotten the results from his latest pet scan.  The doctor said it was a “fantastic” report and that he saw no cancer.  Dad was elated and is giving God the glory!

We are on a regular schedule this morning/evening.

We are only four days away from the first service with Evangelist Wade Morris.  I sure hope that we are prayed up and that the members of the Friendship family will support these meetings with your attendance.  Pray, pray, pray!

FYI, our evening services next week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) will begin at 6:30PM.  Obviously, the Sunday evening service will begin at 6:00PM.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.  It is good to be home!

TUESDAY, 8/12/14

Today’s Bible reading – Nehemiah 3:15-5:13 1 Corinthians 7:25-40 Psalm 32:1-11 Proverbs 21:5-7

On the revival prayer point today – Candice Adkinson, Katelyn Jackson, Hennie Tran, Brianne Woods    wade@wademorris.com

On the revival prayer point tomorrow, 8/13 – Kyle Bryant, Brooke Ladnier, Caryn Suthoff, James Thorne

Sueanna & Zeke did come home from the hospital so the Friendship family is “hospital free” at the moment.

I do know that the funeral service for Margaret Ann Glenn will take place tomorrow.  What I do not know is when or where.  My niece, Jamie, is not the greatest source of information!  Regardless, pray for the family.

Lord willing, I will leave Guatemala early today, 8/12, and be home this afternoon barring any delays.  I am thankful to John King for coming the airport on Saturday night to pick me up and he will also be taking me to the airport today.  John is a fine man!

I spent some time with Paul Leytham yesterday morning, cleaned out the pantry, had a meeting with John King, had a meeting with Lazaro & Glendy Suruy and Kirk & Michelle Lightfield, visited with Robert Matheu and Paul Leytham last night and wrote a letter on behalf of Teresita Lara as she is trying to get her visa.  In my opinion, it was a productive day.

I received a number of e-mails of prayer support regarding Cristy’s passing and me being here.  Again, I am grateful!

Regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.  Pray for revival.
