MONDAY, 1/29/18

“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

Becky Hatcher and her oldest sister spoke at Mr. Benedict’s celebration of life yesterday afternoon and both did a nice job of remembering their father.  Thanks to those from the Friendship family who traveled to Hattiesburg to support Becky and family.

Larry Whitehurst is getting better vision wise.  He thought about coming to our services yesterday but I advised him to not do so just to be on the safe side.  Keep praying for Larry’s vision to return.

Brianne Woods Seymour’s paternal grandmother has been admitted to the hospital.  She has recently been diagnosed with multiple health issues so pray for Miss Cheryl, Kerry, Tim and the family.

Ethan and Brittney Nelson brought their little girl, Charleigh Nicole, home from the hospital yesterday afternoon.  All is well. What are those three boys going to think about a sister?

Thank you to each person who helped with the Mission of Hope breakfast yesterday morning.  It went well with tons of food!  We enjoyed having the men in our early service.

Our second morning service was down attendance wise.  I know there is a lot of sickness going around and I certainly do not want folks coming to the services if they are contagious.  I do want those of us who are healthy to be present each time possible.  Our evening attendance was good and I am grateful.

Soy, Deidra, Lizzie, Sydney (we hope) and Audrey return to Guatemala in the morning.  Lisa and I are sad/happy to see them go.  (Ok, Lisa is sad.  I am happy!  LOL!)  We will miss them tremendously but are grateful they are following God’s will for their life together as a family.  Pray for Lizzie as she will begin school on Thursday and will be baptized by fire into the Spanish language.  I suspect that in a few months she will be teaching Soy & Deidra Spanish.  Thank you for supporting this family prayerfully, financially and emotionally.

Lord willing, I will be on the same plane as the Taylor family tomorrow.  A team arrives on Thursday and I need a day or two to get ready for them.  I will miss this Sunday, 2/4, but have plans to be back in the pulpit on the following Sunday, 2/11.

Bro. Jerry Hovel will preach in my absence this Sunday, 2/4, and Jeff Holifield will share about the work of the Gideons too.  We will receive an offering for the Gideons during each of our three services.

Today will be a very full day for me as I try to get packed and everything else done in order to leave tomorrow.  Translated – probably no sleep for me tonight.  What else is new?

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
