“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Carol Lucky is scheduled to have a port placed in her body today in order to be able to do dialysis at home.  Keep praying for Carol & Terry.

I “think” Miss Cora remains in the hospital but will hopefully be moved back home either today or tomorrow.  Keep praying for Miss Cora too.

The memorial service for Ginny Easterling takes place this Saturday.  Keep praying for her family.

Regular schedule this morning and evening on our campus.

The mission team had an eventful day yesterday.  They completely finished building all of the houses which brings that total to twenty five.  The fifteen houses in San Lorenzo all received concrete which is a pretty good days work in, and of, itself.  There are three or four doors/windows to be put up and all of the houses will be completely finished.  Ross Genzink has done a nice job of coordinating the house building.

Two of the girls on the trip received word late yesterday afternoon that their paternal grandfather has just passed from this life.  Pray for them as they plan to stay here as planned as the service will most likely be scheduled for Friday or Saturday.

One of the guys suffered a cut on his arm and had to be taken to the hospital to receive stitches.  All is well with him.  Thanks to Hope Roberts and Soy for tending to him.

Another one of the guys was riding back to the mission house while standing in the back of the truck.  At some point his billfold fell from his pocket but he did not realize it until later.  He began to walk back down the road and a guy gave it to him.  The cash was gone but the credit cards, license, et cetera were all in place.  Small miracle.

Pray for the team to finish strong today.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 7/30/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Carol Lucky has now received dialysis two times.  The goal is for her to be able to do this from home.  As for right now, she remains in the hospital.  Keep praying for Carol.

Word came to me last night that Miss Berenice Dendy passed from this life yesterday morning.  Lisa and I met Mr. Lavell & Miss Berenice many years ago at an Alabama football game.  Their seats are immediately in front of ours.  A really neat couple that we have learned to love over the years and are saddened by this passing.  Pray for the Dendy family.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.

The team in Guatemala had a good Monday.  They built twelve more houses, poured concrete in five more, and the ten in Las Lomas are now all completed. I think that leaves five to be built in San Lorenzo with fifteen needing concrete.  The team enjoyed supper at Las Antorchas in Antigua last night and then came back to the mission house to listen to Deidra share about the school. All is well here.

Bobby and the boys beat the Braves last night to close the gap to four and one half games.  Keep it going Nationals!

The season tickets to Alabama football will be shipped this week which means we are getting close to the start of another season.  I am ready!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 7/29/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Keep praying for Carol Lucky as she remains in the hospital.

Miss Cora Martin also remains in the hospital.  Pray for Miss Cora.

The celebration of life service for Miss Martha Terry takes place today in Prattville, Alabama.  Decker has graciously asked Lisa to speak during that service on behalf of GRACE Ministries.  Pray for Decker, Ron and the family.  Pray for Lisa as she shares.

This is a very important week for the Friendship family as we consider God’s will for a minister to lead our students.  I ask that we be fervent in prayer.  Let’s hear from God regarding this important matter.

The team in Guatemala had a good Sunday.  They left GRACE Mountain at 6:30AM heading to the area adversely affected by the volcano eruption in June 2018.  Once there they set up on a large field that is used for soccer games.  It was around 8:30AM and there were already hundreds of people in line to receive a bag of food.  Some of these people had walked ninety minutes just to get this food.  When all was said and done the team had distributed 289 bags of food.  As the team drove back toward El Tejar, Pastor Max would stop and give away the remaining eleven bags of food to folks on the side of the road.

The team enjoyed lunch and some down time in Antigua before arriving back on GRACE Mountain around 3:30PM.  They then hosted a worship service for the youth group from the GRACE Community Church.  Dr. Rex Looney led the musical worship and that was followed by a message from the Word.  Afterwards a grilled cheese meal was served and everyone was happy!  It was a good day of ministry.

Bobby and the boys beat the Dodgers yesterday.  They remain five and one half games behind the Braves and are tied for the lead in the wild card playoff spot.  Tonight, they begin a three game home series against the Braves.  Let’s go Nats!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 7/28/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Carol Lucky remains in the hospital so keep praying for her.

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and evening.  Bro. Jerry Hovel will be preaching in all three services.  Pray for those services and I pray the members of the Friendship family will be faithful to attend.

The team in Guatemala struggled yesterday.  It was just one of those days.  A flat tire without a spare was the beginning.  Time was short as the team had to be back to host some of the feeding center families for supper.  That was a good time.  So, as a result, only three houses were built yesterday.  Only eighteen more to go!

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 7/27/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

The visitation with the Ginny Easterling family and the service will all take place on our church campus one week from today.  The  Friendship family will minister to Ginny’s family with a meal being served following the service.  Keep praying.

Carol Lucky has been admitted to the hospital again.  She will begin dialysis soon.  Pray for Carol.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.  I am praying for the members of the Friendship family to be faithful to attend.

The team in Guatemala had a good first day of ministry as the ladies went to a village and built four houses.  Hooray for the ladies!  Meanwhile, the men stayed on the mountain and put in a very hard day of work at the school.  They literally moved mountains of dirt getting the first level rooms ready for concrete.  They also laid sod on the side of a hill.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

GINNY EASTERLING PASSES FROM THIS LIFE

Received news early this morning that Ginny Easterling passed from this life last night while in her sleep.  Total shock.  I simply ask you to pray for her family especially her mother, Miss Catherine Leach.

A time of visitation with the family will take place on Saturday, August 3, (not this Saturday) beginning at 9:00AM until a memorial service begins at 11:00AM.  I do not know the location of the memorial service but will post it at a later time.

Ginny and I are the same age.  She often reminded me of that fact.  Folks, you never know!

FRIDAY, 7/26/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Just got word that one of the members of the Friendship family passed from this life during the night.  I can going to withhold the name until I am certain all of the family members have been notified.  Just pray.

Joey Bosarge was discharged from the hospital yesterday.  The jury is still out on the exact problem and solution.  Pray for Joey.  (I say stay away from sweet tea!)

Miss Cora remains in the hospital so please keep praying.

A couple of the young girls who arrived here yesterday got word last night that their paternal grandfather who is battling cancer is not doing well.  Pray for him, the medical folks and the family.

One of the men scheduled to be on this mission team had to decline the opportunity at the last minute due to some issues with his heart.  Pray for him.

All thirty eight of our team members arrived on GRACE Mountain safe and sound yesterday afternoon and late last night.  We thank God for traveling mercies.  Today they will be involved in a myriad of ministry opportunities.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 7/25/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Good Thursday morning from GRACE Mountain.  It was a joy to be on the mountain yesterday in order to personally wish Paul Leytham a happy 86th birthday.  He recently had an amoeba, has the shingles and his right arm is infected with something else but otherwise he is doing great – LOL!  Actually, Paul looks very well and is a happy camper.

Miss Cora remains hospitalized as they are trying to build her strength up.  She will most likely be in the hospital for another few days.  Pray for Miss Cora.

Joey Bosarge remains in the hospital.  He has now moved from being a patient to being impatient!  Pray for Joey.

The celebration of life service for Miss Martha Terry will take place Monday, 7/29, at noon in Prattville.  Pray for Decker and the family.

Mission of Hope service tomorrow night beginning at 7:00PM.  Everyone invited.

We have twenty two folks who are flying this morning heading to Guatemala.  This afternoon there will be sixteen more doing the same.  Folks are flying from Mobile, Huntsville, Atlanta & Grand Rapids.  Pray for traveling mercies.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 7/24/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Good morning from GRACE Mountain.  This entry is late.  I apologize.  No excuses.

The flight attendant had just announced for us to turn off all electronic devices as the door had been closed and we were about to depart on our flight from ATL to GUA.  My phone rang and it was our good friend, Decker Terry, from Montgomery, Alabama.  He called to share that his wife, Martha, had just passed from this life and entered Heaven.  Broke my heart and made me rejoice in my spirit at the same time.  I was not able to talk to Decker much at that time but Lisa and Deidra called him later.  Pray for Decker and family as they walk through this valley.

Bob Evans’ son got some not so good news from the doctor yesterday.  Pray for that situation.

As far as I know, Miss Cora remains hospitalized.  Keep praying for Miss Cora.

Joey Bosarge was admitted to the hospital last night with a possible heart issue.  Tests today.  Too much Sweet Tea perhaps?

Regular schedule on our campus this morning and tonight.

The Lord blessed me with an excellent day of traveling yesterday.  I am thankful.  The girls seemed excited to see me but not as excited as Soy!

I pray that you will have a great rest of today with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 7/23/19

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11)

Good Tuesday morning from the Mobile airport.  Lord willing, I will be boarding a plane in a few minutes heading to Atlanta to make a connection before eventually arriving in Guatemala City shortly after noon.  I have a couple of meetings to take part in and will get ready for the team which will arrive on Thursday.

The celebration of life for Leslie Hacker’s brother, Lonnie, will take place on Sunday, August 4, in Bay Minette.  Keep praying for the Hacker family.

Had the opportunity to visit with Miss Cora Martin yesterday and it was a delightful visit.  She had just gotten moved to a regular room and was a happy camper.  She is very appreciative of the prayer support being given to her.  Keep praying.

Have other situations involving sick folks but not everyone wants their business broadcast and I respect their right to privacy.

I will do my best to post an entry each day while I am away.  No promises on the weekends.

Dale & Karla head to Minnesota today and then will travel to Maine.  Pray for them and their ministry.

Regular schedule on our campus tomorrow morning and evening.  Bro. Jerry will be teaching in my absence tomorrow.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.
