WEDNESDAY, 4/1/20

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15 (NASB)

Yes, our own Deanna Wetterer tested positive for COVID-19.  She has basically gone through the worst of the virus now and immediately went into self quarantine the very moment she displayed the first sign of possibly having the virus.  As I stated yesterday, her attitude is great and her faith in the Lord is greater.  Keep praying for Deanna.

As you know, I do not do FaceBook.  Someone sent me a message last night saying that “some” women within the Friendship family were blowing this story up on FB and, if you did not know better, you would think there is an epidemic of this virus within our church family.  I do not know how many “some” is but I do say, “come on ladies, we are better than this!”  Men too.  It is very likely that with proper testing there could be other cases within the Friendship family and/or South Mobile County.  So, we need to call each other to prayer and not be trying to be the first one to get the “word” out or to sensationalize a story.

Tim Knighten sent me a message yesterday giving me permission to share his story.  Tim has suffered from kidney stones in years gone by and during that time they found a spot on one of his kidneys but it was nothing of concern.  So, when he was recently told that there was a spot on one of his kidneys it was not a concern.  However, he just got the news late last week that this new spot is on his other kidney and the medical folks feel it is malignant.  So, he will have a PET scan this Friday to help the doctors get a more detailed look.  As I mentioned this past Sunday, Tim’s faith is strong and he has a peace that comes from God.  Pray for Tim!

Bob Evans recently had some medical tests done and the doctor is concerned about a spot on his liver.  The doctor is calling for more testing.  Pray for Bob.

Karla Bosarge is still waiting on further instruction as to what is next with her thyroid.  Keep praying for Karla.

Andy Hamil is also in that “holding pattern” as the doctors decide their next move.  Pray for Andy.

Word came to me yesterday that Warren “Blo Joe” Guidry has pneumonia in the lower part of one of his lungs.  Pray for Blo Joe.

Myrtle had another treatment this past Monday.  She did not have a good night Monday.  Keep praying for Myrtle.

Carol Lucky remains at home and on dialysis.  Keep praying for Carol.

We are going to have the auditorium open today from 10:00AM until 11:00AM and then again from 6:30PM until 7:30PM in order for folks to come and pray.  This will also be a time for folks to bring their offering – cash or check and place it in one of the offering plates on the platform.  Please enter the West side door and exit through the front doors.  This will allow us to maintain social distancing while coming and going.  If you are sick, do not come.  If you are uncomfortable about being out, do not come.  We are honoring the government’s mandate of having nine or less in attendance at any given time.  Bro. Abel will be in the auditorium this morning and Bro. Jerry will be there tonight.

I will be doing a Bible study via Zoom beginning at 6:30PM tonight.  Bro. Abel will be doing likewise for our students.  I am not sure about Bro. Abel but I will only have forty minutes total so please sign in on time.  Daphne Hutto will host the Bible study I will be leading.  Contact her at daphnehutto@gmail.com if you have questions or need more information on how to log in.

Thank you to each person who sent your e-mail address and cell phone number to me via e-mail yesterday.  It was a very good start but we need many, many more to do likewise.  Deacons, church leaders, help us here.  Do it right now so you will not forget!  Bro. Jerry & Bro. Abel are working on getting all of the data entered into the computer so we can go paperless.

How about forty eight degrees for a low last night!  Thank you Jesus!  Thank you Aninha Barrett for recognizing my delight with such a temperature.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.
