TUESDAY, 4/23/13

First, Sara Ladnier’s surgery will take place today at noon.  It was scheduled, postponed, and is now on the scheduled again.  You can read Kathy’s comment on yesterday’s post.  This will be a five to six hour surgery.  Pray for Sara.

Miss Kathleen Henderson was discharged from the hospital on Sunday so my trip to visit her yesterday was fruitless.  Folks, my source when it comes to getting information about Miss Kathleen is not real reliable.  I will not call any names but if you need your oil changed you should give Joey a try!

Kevin Woods is scheduled to be discharged from the hospital today.  It has been a long road for him and he still has a lot of rehab in front of him.  I know that he and his family are excited.

Visited with Miss Edith yesterday.  The sitter says that it really helped pick up her spirits as Miss Edith shared and we laughed together.  Bro. Kerry is on vacation and out of town.  This would be a good week for some folks to stop by and encourage Miss Edith.  I plan on seeing her another time or two this week.

Visited with Miss Exie Woods yesterday afternoon.  She looks good and said (through hand motions) that she is doing so so.  What a sweetheart!

Keep praying for those folks battling cancer.  Their number seems to increase weekly.

Eason Andrews passed away on Saturday.  He worked at Serenity Funeral Home.  Eason was born in ’27 so he was either 85 or 86 years old (how old is Herbert Benefield?)  The visitation with the family takes place tonight at Serenity and the service will take place in Clark County tomorrow.  Pray for the Andrews family.

Congratulations to Coach Eric Collier as it was announced last week that he is now the head football coach at Theodore High School.  I was going to present him with a certificate along with a $1,000 cash gift in this past Sunday night’s service but he was not present so. . . .   LOL!  Seriously, Coach Eric is a great guy and I wish him well in this new position!

Bro. Chris has several activities planned for our students this week as they are out of school.  Contact him for the details.

Bro. Jim Chinners says the sale of the boston butts and ribs is going well.  Remember, they will be available on the Saturday prior to Mother’s Day.

Please mark Sunday, 5/5, on your calendar.  More details forthcoming.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

The doc called late yesterday afternoon and changed Sara surgery to 7:30 this morning. Please pray for all involved. Also that she heals fast and that she will not be in to much pain.
