SATURDAY, 11/30/13

Received an e-mail from Sandra McElwee during the night and I asked for permission to share it via the blog:

“Bro. Teddie. I know you have been praying for David. I wanted you to know some things that are coming up with him. so you know how to pray. David has been  taking chemotherapy for the last 21 weeks. They have been getting him  ready for a bone marrow transplant. He started today taking Neperton shots. He will take those for the next 4 days. They are to make the T cells in the bones jump into his blood. He will go to the hospital on Monday to have a port put in. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday he will be there all day for them to collect them.  They will let him rest a few days. Then on the next Monday the 9th he will go into the hospital and  on the 10th they will do the transplant. He will stay there for 2 to 3 weeks after that we will go to Leigh Ann’s. Someone will need to be with him all the time. I work three blocks  from her. I will keep you posted but I really want you to pray that this will put him in remission.”

Join me in praying for David.  David chaired the pastor search committee that recommended me to the Friendship family.  (Now you know who to blame!)  I have always appreciated him for leading that group to do so and that group responding positively.  I have missed David & Sandra ever since they moved away.  Sandra wrote in a second message that David “looks good” which is amazing as he never has looked that good in all of the years I have know him – must be the meds.  LOL!

The past few mornings, especially yesterday, it has looked like a young snow on the ground as we have had a pretty good frost.  That inspired me to mow the yard yesterday afternoon.  Of course, whenever Charles saw me mowing, he demanded that I mow his yard too!  Deidra was napping so she “fussed” because the mower was running (hard to mow otherwise).  Soy said he does not mow in months that end in r, y, h, l, e or t.  Otherwise, he is always ready to help!

I realize that we have a good number of folks out of town because of Thanksgiving.  However, there are more of us who are in town.  My prayer is that we will be faithful to the services tomorrow morning and evening.

Lord willing, next Sunday night, 12/8, we are going to show the “My Hope America” dvd in our 6:00PM service.  Pray.  Invite folks to join you for that service.  Pray!

Someone asked me last night where I was going to be  watching the game today?  I had forgotten all about their being a game today.  (Or something like that!)  AU has had an amazing turn around this season.  Nobody, not even Ross Hatcher or Scott Fontenot, saw it coming prior to the season’s beginning.  Good for them.  UA has obviously enjoyed a good season thus far too as expected.  Should be a good game.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.
