We were blessed with a good day in our services yesterday in spite of the rainy weather.  As long as I live, I will never figure out why folks cannot go to church on rainy days but can go everywhere (and anywhere) else under the same conditions.  I thank God for those who are faithful!

The Friendship family responded beautifully to “loving your neighbor” through the offering yesterday morning.  More than met the need. Thank you!

The funeral arrangements for Bubba’s brother are scheduled to be completed today.  I will post them on here once they have been finalized.  I do know that the Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa is handling the arrangements.  Pray for the Benefield family.

Miss Kathleen Henderson has been in a hospital for the past few days.  Difficulty with her breathing again.  She may be coming home today but that is not a given.

Carolyn Blaylock remains hospitalized but is doing well.  I suspect that she will be moving to a rehab facility at some point this week.

Andy Hamil tells me that Pastor Bud Parker is not doing well.  He remains hospitalized and in need of our prayer support.

Our students going on the GRACE trips this Summer will be hosting a spaghetti dinner this Sunday, 3/2.  These will be “to go” orders only and will be available immediately following Sunday School for those who attended the 8:00AM service and then after the 10:30AM service for those who attend  that service.  Cost is $6 per plate.  All proceeds go directly to help defray the cost of the mission trip for the students.

Amazingly, the fare is still good for those wishing to go to El Salvador the first weekend in May.  However, I do not expect those fares to last much longer at all.  Seven have already made the commitment and purchased tickets.  (If five or six folks would step up today with $500 then I would take the praise band too!)

Speaking of mission trips, we could possibly squeeze one or two more in on our June trip.  The August trip is full.  Bro. Jerry has openings on his July trip.  Interested?  Contact us.

Have I mentioned that Pastor Ted Traylor will be at Friendship on Thursday, 3/13, at 6:30PM?  Pray!

Lord willing, Lisa and I will be attending the state evangelism conference in Montgomery today and tomorrow.  I have plans to be back in time for Wednesday morning’s service.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

From Onenewsnow.com; Let’s Pray for this Brave Woman. She is risking her freedom to draw attention of our politicians to her husbands (American Citizen) unjust treatment and jail sentence. March 8th is a critical date.

Nahgmeh Abedini, wife of an Iranian-American pastor imprisoned in Iran, will risk arrest to draw President Obama’s attention to her jailed husband.

Saeed Abedini returned to Iran to visit family, was arrested and after a sham trial was sentenced to eight years in prison for his previous work in the house church movement while he was previously a citizen in Iran.

Now, a movement is under way to make it harder for President Obama to ignore the jailed pastor.

Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition tells OneNewsNow: “We are delighted to announce that Nahgmeh Abedini on March 8,which is a Saturday, is coming to the White House after being ignored by the President. And she’s going to kneel in front of the White House and risk arrest.”

Mahoney says this latest attempt to free the Iranian-American is an eight-week campaign called the “Hebrews 13:3 Project.”

The effort is already unfolding in front of the White House, where police arrested Mahoney and other Christian leaders January 13 while they demonstrated civil disobedience.

Mahoney is also inviting all Americans who believe in religious freedom to join them in the event. For those who cannot, he urges Christians to spend part of that Saturday in prayer for the
