THURSDAY, 1/29/09

We had a good day in our Wednesday Bible studies/prayer meeting/classes.  It was a joy to baptize Konner Ferguson in our 7:00PM service.  Thanks to Austin Jackson & Daniel Smullen for their help after the young adult Bible study last night.

Bro. Jerry & Bro. Kerry drove to Trussville yesterday afternoon to attend the funeral service last night for Betty Loyed, Kayla Huffstutler’s grandmother.  Eddie Crocker, 59, Sonny Bates’ nephew, was placed in ICU yesterday but was then moved to a regular hospital in order for his family to be with him.  The medical personnel say there is no hope as his leukemia has resurfaced and he is now in a comatose state.  Pray for Eddie and his family.

Tina Sprinkle’s surgery was much longer than anticipated but the doctor was satisfied that her problems have been corrected.  She will be in the hospital for a day, two, or three depending on her ability to walk a certain distance.

Marisa Felps e-mailed me to say that Carla’s treatment went okay as they gave her a lower dosage on Tuesday.  Shea Childress got sick again during her treatment and also had to have a wisdom tooth cut out.  Joyce Bosarge is at home with no significant change.  Jimmy Crawley remains at home too.

Martha Patrick’s brother-in-law, Tolbert Bennett, is in an ICU in a local hospital.  He is an active member of 1st Baptist Moss Point.

Pastor Jack Bailey and the folks at Danville Baptist had a good four days of services as God moved among them.  I don’t know the preaching evangelist but Rex Looney was the worship leader.  I praise God for the things He did in the life of Danville Baptist this week.

Jon Cowart will be in our student Bible studies for the next two Wednesdays.  It doesn’t change what I said about him yesterday in regards to what a good job he has done with our students.

Wow, in 25 hours Lisa & I will depart for Guatemala.  Basically, that means that I have 52 hours of work to get done between now and then so I am up until I take my seat on that plane in Mobile tomorrow.  We will celebrate Hien’s (pronounced Hennie) 17th birthday tonight even though her actual birth date is next week.  I may post in the morning and I may not.  I will be switching to the GRACE blog beginning Saturday and have plans to blog daily from that point forward.  Pray for this GRACE team of 47 as we go do construction and medical.  The Friendship CRC team returns home tomorrow.

Jamie & Jessica Hall are doing the Faith Academy run for us this morning so I am off to Pensacola and Renfroe’s pecans.  I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus!
