THURSDAY, 4/23/15

Today’s Bible reading – Judges 1:1-2:9 Luke 21:29-22:13 Psalm 90:1-91:16 Proverbs 13:24-25

Herbert Benefield’s surgery went well.  He is in ICU and will most likely be there for a couple of days.  Pray that his problems have not been corrected with this latest surgery.

Anthony, the young boy in Jeanette Bates’ class, is doing better and, according to the doctor, will make a full recovery.  Praise the Lord!

Maria Wainwright’s mother is in a Louisiana hospital.  Maria is there with her.

Conner Stork, grandson of Bobby & Faye Stork and Scott & Nanette Fontenot, has pneumonia.  He is not in the hospital but is a very sick little boy.

I received word yesterday that Ray Baber’s brother is in the hospital and not doing well at all.  I do not know the details but hope to get more information today.

Becky Sellers went to work with Dave yesterday and, as far as I know, did well.

The visitation with the Nell Mulkey family takes place this afternoon/evening from 5:00 – 8:00PM in the auditorium.  The service will take place tomorrow, 4/24, beginning at 10:00AM and will also be in the auditorium.

We were blessed with good services yesterday.  Our attendance in the auditorium seemed to be down a bit but, all in all, it was good.  Thank you to those who are faithful to attend.

One of my good pastor friends sent me an e-mail last night telling me that he resigned from his church.  Pray for him and the church.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

    Brothers and Sisters,

Could Pastor Saeed be left behind?
It would be outrageous, but it’s possible.
Iran continues to torment American Pastor Saeed and demand he reject Christ and become Muslim.
He’s standing by his faith. But is our government standing by him?
While President Obama told Pastor Saeed’s wife that his release is a “top priority,” the State Department says that the lives of Pastor Saeed and the other imprisoned Americans are merely being discussed on the “sidelines.”
How can the Obama Administration refuse to demand the release of four wrongfully imprisoned Americans directly at the bargaining table?
    It’s unconscionable.
Iran is holding Pastor Saeed and three other Americans hostage.
We’re mobilizing on Capitol Hill and preparing to travel overseas to engage world leaders in the fight to save Pastor Saeed.
We must act now. Even if you’ve signed before, we need your voice again.
