FRIDAY, 12/25/15

Today’s Bible reading –  Zechariah 8:1-23 Revelation 16:1-21 Psalm 144:1-15 Proverbs 30:29-31

Merry Christmas!

Praise the Lord!  Hallelujah!  Our Christmas Eve service was awesome!  Absolutely awesome!  The house was filled to capacity!  The musical specials were outstanding.  Missionary Jonny Gaston did a great job of sharing the Gospel.  The members of the Friendship family were faithful to attend the service and we had a good number of guests join us.  God showed up!  The rains stayed away.  I came home just thrilled and giving God the glory!  God is so good!

Thank you to each person who took part in the service including our deacons as they served the Lord’s Supper.  Thank you to each person who attended.  Thank you Jesus.

Honestly, I am already praying, thinking and planning for next year’s service.  This is a great time for folks to now decide this is going to be a family tradition.

Cynthia Cumbie was taken by ambulance to the hospital early last night.  She is back in ICU and is listed as serious.

Caroline Ford sounds horrible.  Being the doctor that I am, she needs to be in the hospital too.

One service this Sunday, 12/27.  It begins at 10:30AM.  My prayer is for a full house in that service too.  Lord willing, I will be in the pulpit.  We will observe the ordinance of baptism as a part of that service.

There are three huge poinsettia plants setting on the baptismal ledge.  Here is the deal – they will be given to the first person(s) who ask for them.  (That means that one third of our blog readership could get a poinsettia)  Bill Goff planted one years ago and now has a really nice poinsettia bush outside his house.  First come, first served.  They can be taken as soon as the service is over this Sunday, 12/27.

Things happen that necessitate change.  We have some sickness in our family which means that we did not get to have our family time last night.  Lord willing, it will all happen today.  Translated – Charles got to keep that five dollars he normally gives me for Christmas for at least one more day.  Lisa and I are celebrating our thirty sixth Christmas together which means that after Christmas 2015 Charles will have given me one hundred and eighty dollars as Christmas gifts.  Is that nice or what!

I guess the only negative from last night’s service was Nanette waiting for me after the service.  Wanted us to have our Christmas picture taken together.  I politely declined and she was pretty upset with me.  Said it was the only reason she came to the service – wow!

I pray that you will have a great Christmas Day with Jesus.  Celebrate Him!
