Monday Update 4/18

Good morning,

Spring Break is over and we are back to regular schedules for the most part.  This Wednesday will be back to normal for our times and Bible studies.

Students that we have addresses on file with will be getting flyers for GO Camp in the mail later this week.  Some of the students received them this Sunday morning during Sunday School.

Checking out the New Orleans calendar of events and April 30th is going to be Jazz Festival.  This is NOT a good time to bring our students as there will be tons of people down there.  We made that mistake either last year or the year before last when we almost killed off Stan Hatcher walking him so far.   I’ll be looking at other dates.

On sports the JV Bryant Baseball team made it to the Championship game but came up short against McGill.  Proud of those guys, especially those that are involved at Friendship.  Madison Poiroux, Kayleigh Cooper, and the Faith Academy Soccer team take on Alma Bryant next Tuesday at 5:00pm at Alma Bryant.

I absolutely love Richard Ross.  He is a professor of Student Ministry at Southwestern Seminary.  He wrote this, “When parents love Jesus and walk with Him (imperfectly), 82% of their children walk in faith a lifetime. How will you use your time today?”  I’m a big fan of math and love to see statistics and numbers.  If you are a parent and have a student in our ministry think on this statistic and make a plan (if you don’t have one already) to walk with Jesus daily.
