Good morning everyone,
February is here and it is a joy to celebrate my 6th year with the Friendship Family. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
RA Basketball is pretty much done for the 2014-2015 season and it was a good one. A lot of new players from a lot of different backgrounds joined the program this year. All in all we had about 30 guys that would participate fully on 3 different teams. A little different this year as over half of our guys attended other churches faithfully but did not have a basketball program or was of a different denomination.
I’m thankful that basketball was the incentive to bring me to Friendship over 15 years ago as an 11th grader and is why I have such a passion for the RA program today. We have one more game with our older boys on Thursday, February 12 in Biloxi, MS vs. St. Patrick Catholic. It is their senior night and we are hoping to spoil it. We do have a backup plan if we don’t afterward to go eat Chinese Buffet. This year our focus has been to always have a backup plan.

NOLA Trip
Once it warms up I’d love to take the students to New Orleans for a day trip. We did this about 4 years ago and we had a great time. The Riverwalk has been renovated and it’s always good to eat a beignet at Cafe’ du Monde.
Alma Bryant Prom Alternative
Though this would only be for the 11th – 12th graders that attend Alma Bryant I am thinking of an alternative night that we will do across the bay in Fairhope at the Boat House. I’ll be talking to the students to see if they are going or not and decide from there. Alma Bryant Prom is Friday, April 17th.
Youth Pastor Summit – Dallas, TX (Open to youth leaders) – April 20-21st
Lifeway is putting on a FREE, yes free, conference for youth leaders in Dallas, TX on Monday & Tuesday, April 20-21st. There are some really great speakers that will be there and I believe any youth leader, as well as myself would benefit from attending this conference. The only cost would be food as we have a place to stay in Mckinney, TX. If you would be interested in attending please contact me. Have to be 18 years of age or older to attend. Look here for more information: http://www.slulead.com/YPSDallas
Hope you have a great week and continue to pray for our students.
