Monday Update 8/10

Good morning everyone, School has officially started for MCPSS students.  I hope that everyone will get back into the swing of things pretty quickly and we can begin to see the numbers on Sundays and Wednesday rise. The feeding for the GBMS staff went exceptionally well as they loved it. Gave us a chance to meet some of the new teachers as well as talk to a number of the veterans. Big thanks to Jim and Glenda for cooking everything, and Trish, Kerri, J.T. & Alexus for helping and eating the leftovers. We are 7 days away from Wade Morris being with us.  I highly encourage you to begin praying now.  If you have not heard, we will have open prayer times throughout the week for you to come pray for the revival services.  You can check those out on Bro. Teddie’s blog (friendshipfamily.net/pastorblog).  More on the services below This year we have school representatives at GBMS and BHS.  Brooke Ladnier will be our GBMS school representative and Adriana Arriola & Caleb Watson will be our BHS representatives.  They will help us to plan and coordinate things with the school as well as keep us informed with the happenings there. Our youth committee has been set for the upcoming year with some new additions.  The members of the youth committee for the 2015-2016 year are: Lynne Watson, Eric & Sanna Collier, Raymond & Tina Wilkinson, Jack & Kerri Lastorka, Jim & Glenda Chinners, Zach Huhn, Eva Mareno, and Christopher Taylor. Monday Update 8/3

Good morning summer is about done, We are exactly one week away from the first day of the MCPSS 2015-2016 school year.  If you would like a schedule of the year here is a link: goo.gl/LTxR0M I was wrong as this week is the last Wednesday of the summer that Youth Works will be with us and working in our community.  This Wednesday is also the first Wednesday our upcoming 6th graders will be coming up and the upcoming 9th graders will be coming into the high-school Bible study. Emails have been sent out requesting members for the 2015-2016 youth committee.  If you didn’t receive an email it most certainly doesn’t mean you cannot continue to serve in the youth ministry, we just try to rotate those serving on this committee and give new opportunities to those who haven’t had the chance to serve. Monday Update 7/27

Good morning, Yesterday was the last Sunday of the church year which means this is the last Monday update of the 2014-2015 church year. I will send another email behind this one about GO Camp as there is more information that I would like to share than send it here. This Wednesday night will be the last Wednesday for our Seniors and up.  I have been trying to prepare them mentally for the move and hopefully it will be a smooth transition with them.  I’ll be encouraging them to go to the College and Career Bible Study at Bro. Teddie’s this Wednesday and will be going with them over there this Wednesday to help the transition.  Encourage them when you see them to go. This Wednesday, I believe, will also be the last Wednesday the groups from Youth Works will be with us.  They have definitely been a blessing and I hope that we have been so to them also. Next Wednesday, 8/5, will be the last Wednesday for the upcoming 9th graders to be in the Junior High Bible study and the first Wednesday for the upcoming 6th graders to be a part of The Foundation.  At the beginning Bro. Jim will send the upcoming 9th graders onward to the Gym. Monday Update 7/13

Good morning, A lot of people have been asking about my experience at Wild Week and I have planned on writing a post to you all about that now that it is in the books. GO Camp sponsors needed! We have 2 students that would like to go but are not able to afford camp.  They were in the Sunday service yesterday and have been faithful to Wednesday night services for a long time now.  Sponsorships are $199.  Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in sponsoring or partially sponsoring one of these two students.  Contact me if you have questions about these students as some want more detailed information on where, whom, and how their giving will be used. Last Wednesday’s service was packed from what I heard.  From reports we had about 50 students joined with 100 youth works students.  With all the warm bodies and the non-functional A/C I heard it was a bit warm in the CAB.  Other than that though, all reports were great, and a big thanks goes out to Bro. Jim Chinners for leading everything. We are 3 Wednesdays away from the last Wednesday night with our Seniors.  Please remind them about the Wednesday night Bible study and fellowship at Bro. Teddie’s that they can join in on August 5th at 7:30pm and every Wednesday night after. On August 5th the upcoming 5th graders will be able to join The Foundation Youth Ministry.  We are going to have regular services but it will be a little different as we are going to meet in the gym together and then break, more...

Monday Update 7/6

Good morning, What an amazing service we had yesterday morning.  God definitely was honored IMO.  Then to cap it all off last night the USWNT won the World Cup in style. This afternoon I head back to Texas to week two of Wild Week with Ken Freeman.  Week one we got to see 268 come to know Christ.  Pray we will see students saved this week also. We will need all hands on deck this Wednesday night.  Bro. Jim Chinners will be leading this Wednesday night and the leaders at Youth Works said this is going to be their biggest week of the year as they are bringing 100.  All students will be in the CAB for service and it will start at regular time. GO Camp is only two weeks away.  I have always believed that the summer youth camps should not be looked at as a cost, but an investment.  Parents, how much would you pay to see your student make a decision that alters their lives for eternity?  Though camp doesn’t assure that, it does give an opportunity to.  The opportunity is why we must make it a priority to have our students involved in Sunday services (Sunday School, Worship, DT, & Evening Worship) as well as the Wednesday night activities.
