Monday Morning Update 10/27

Good morning everyone,

Currently we have a website, Facebook, Twitter, App on the Windows, App Store, & Google Play Store, Text Alerts, weekly news & notes on Sundays & Wednesdays, and a Monday morning email broadcast.  I don’t plan on calling everyone on the telephone or sending out weekly mail to your homes so please take advantage of staying up to date with some of these services we offer. (Links to all of these are listed below)

We have another great week coming up ministry and event wise for the students.  This Friday night we will have our annual Hallelujah festival in the CAB and hope for many of the students to be in attendance helping out with the festival.  After the festival we will be taking the students to Seward Farms in Lucedale for the haunted maze.  Cost is $15.  Detailed information below and more info on upcoming events.

Hallelujah Festival and Seward Farms – Friday, October 31st
Hallelujah festival starts at 5pm.  We will leave the church at 7:30pm going to Seward Farms.  Cost is $15 and transportation will hopefully be provided.  A need for this trip is someone that has a CDL license and can drive the mini-bus, if not we will be forced to car pool.

Potential Soccer Tournament Fundraiser Update

The potential dates would be Saturday, December 6th & 13th.  Tournament would be double elimination and most of the registration money would have to be spent on referees as 3 are needed for each game as well as portable restrooms would have to be rented.  Most of the funds raised would have to be from food, drink, photo sales, and any other ideas we come up with.  I am still in communication with Coach Higgins to see what referees we would be getting and talked with Stan Hatcher about field preparation.

I would like at least 20 volunteers (adults & students) or more for this event as on those mornings I will be scheduled with RA Basketball and there will be a lot of work/ministry to do.  If I cannot get 20 committed volunteers by Wednesday, November 8th we will not do the fundraiser.

Winter Retreat – December 29-31 – $30/person
We are going to take a Winter Retreat to the woods in Lucedale, MS and get focused on the 2015 year with our students.  Cost is $30/person as the only thing we have to pay for is food and transportation.  Details forthcoming on schedule, what to bring, and how to signup.  Plans are to leave on Monday afternoon 12/29 and stay until Wednesday morning 12/31.  Adult leaders are invited to come. Here is the Google Map link to where it is located: goo.gl/UFx41w
