Monday Morning Update 1/26

Good morning everyone,

Apologies for not posting last week.  After the MLK day games and revival I just decided to skip it until today.  I do have some important things coming up, especially the Dinner & Show fundraiser on February 13th below.

The meal fundraiser went really well.  Jim & Glenda Chinners led the charge and I believe the students will be rewarded very well toward their Guatemala trips from the 170+ meals that were sold.   Thank you to all that purchased a meal.

– 2/5 – WinterJam at the Mitchell Center – Thursday, February 5th.  Cost $10
– 2/8 – GO Camp Parent Meeting – Sunday, February 8th after evening service in Youth Building
– 2/11 – Valentine’s Dinner & Show Fundraiser meeting w/students – Wednesday, February 11th.
– 2/13 – Valentine’s Dinner & Not-So-Newlywed Show – Friday, February 13th.  Cost $20/person
– 2/18 – Joint Junior & Senior High services w/Bro. Jim Chinners – Wednesday, February 18th.
– School’s Out for Mardi Gras break: February 16-20th

WinterJam Tour – Thursday, February 5th – Cost $10

We will be taking our students to the WinterJam tour at the Mobile Mitchell Center on Thursday, Feb. 5th.  We will plan to stay for the entirety of the concert.  Cost to enter is $10 and extra food money is needed.  Bus/Van will leave the church at 4:00pm.

Valentine’s Dinner & Show – Friday, February 13th – Cost $20

This will be a night of fun, fellowship, and fine food.  Menu will be Steak or Chicken, Baked Potato, Salad, Dessert, & More. Tickets will begin to go on sale this Wednesday in the 2 services and continue until February 8th unless otherwise notified.  This is a pre-order only event as we must have the food orders in.

Student Fundraiser w/Valentine’s Dinner & Show Meeting – Wednesday, February 11th

We need students to help cater this night to our church family and guests.  Students will be getting a portion of the profit from the night and also whatever is given in the community tip jar.  Students will be asked to serve as waiters and waitresses to those that attend.  Any students wanting to be involved will need to meet with Bro. Chris on Wednesday, February 11th after church in the Youth building.

GO Camp 2015 Parent Meeting – Sunday, February 8th after evening service

We will go over payment plans, information, hand out paperwork, and answer any questions that parents may have about GO Camp 2015.  I stand on the same ground as our Pastor when we have meetings after services that attendance in the service is a must.

Dates are: Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24
Cost: $199
Details: Sign-Up and Payment Plan details will begin in February.

Youth Pastor Summit – Dallas, TX (Open to youth leaders) – April 20-21st

Lifeway is putting on a FREE, yes free, conference for youth leaders in Dallas, TX on Monday & Tuesday, April 20-21st.  There are some really great speakers that will be there and I believe any youth leader, as well as myself would benefit from attending this conference.  The only cost would be food as we have a place to stay in Mckinney, TX.  If you would be interested in attending please contact me.  Have to be 18 years of age or older to attend.   Look here for more information: http://www.slulead.com/YPSDallas
