Disciple Now Weekend – March 18-20 – $30

This is a great weekend for students to come together and really get connected with the Lord and other students.  Jonny Gaston and Ralph Rimmer will be our speakers for the weekend and students will be staying at church members homes with a leader that will spend time in Bible study, build a core relationship, and help bring them closer to Christ. The D-NOW will start on Friday, March 18th and the cost is $3 with a work day helping church members get their yards ready for Easter weekend and then an evening service at the church. Saturday will start with a worship service, then paintball play at Southern Alabama Paintball and then a service on Saturday night.  All the students involved will then finish the weekend in the Sunday morning service. What is needed? – Prayers – Leaders to stay with students in homes. – Cooks to help prepare breakfast and dinner on Saturday – Church members to house students 3/18-3/20 and feed students on Friday, March 18th dinner. – Sponsorships The cost mainly covers the paintball and a little extra for food. Let me know if you have any...

Monday Update 1/18

Good morning to y’all, We had a blessed day of plentiful basketball day for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.  My day was a bit longer as most of the players on the Older and Younger teams (about 35 students) spent the night at the church last night.  A big shoutout goes to James Marino for staying with me.  He asked, “Is a lock-in worse than this?”  I responded with, “Yes, and we are making them go to bed at 1:00am, in a lock-in, they have no bedtime.” There were many others that helped run the concession, scoreboard, books, and clean up and I am very grateful for them also. The RA teams finished the day 2-2 and the head ref Jerry made his final tour to Grand Bay as he will be retiring after this basketball season.  Nicole graciously got him some Gumbo and that is probably the only reason why we finished 2-2, not because of my coaching. We have set a date and details for our Dinner & Show Fundraiser and it is below so please check it out. More also on other things coming up. Monday Update 1/11

Good morning, Thanks to those who tried to help sell the cooler as I was contacted on Saturday evening by some guys from Biloxi that came and picked it up.  I tried to give Bro. Benny his $50 for the sell of the cooler since it was his before donating it to the church, but he gave it back to me and told me to buy him some Powerball tickets this weekend. I am still waiting on a full schedule of games for Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Friendship but as soon as I have those I will send out an email. Today I was able to get Dustin Graham enrolled in Better Life Christian Academy (same home school Logan Wainwright graduated from).  This will be a better fit for him and allow me to help him a little more on his needed schoolwork.  Pray for Dustin as he continues this journey toward his diploma, and thank you for your prayers thus far. Speaking of Dustin, he has to have 140 hours of community service for this semester to complete so let me know if you need him.  He doesn’t know this email is being sent out, but I’m sure he will love me for all the work I’m going to be getting him 🙂 More below on schedules and events coming up: In 140 characters or less: – 1/11 – Bama wins 16th National Championship – 1/13 – Regular service times – 1/18 – MCPSS Schools out for Martin Luther King Jr. Day – 1/18 – RA Basketball Games from 9am – ? – 1/26 – RA...

Monday Update 1/4/16

Happy 2016, As normal it will probably take me a couple weeks when writing things to put 16 on the end instead of 15.  2015 was a good year and I am praying along with Bro. Teddie that 2016 be even better for our church family. The Evangelism class with Jonny Gaston is pretty much full.  Last text I received from him there were 31 signed up which is over what he planned on in the beginning, but to God be the glory.  Hopefully there will be another one offered after this first 8 week course and then some of our students can be a part of it, maybe even along with their parents.   Be praying about that! We are still looking to sell/giveaway the double door glass cooler that doesn’t work in the CAB kitchen.  If anyone wants it or knows someone that would like it here is the link: http://mobile.craigslist.org/bfs/5387248775.html I have not received an RA Basketball schedule for 2016 but as soon as I do I will post it. Faith students went back today and MCPSS students go back tomorrow.  Pray for them! Below is more on what is coming up: In 140 characters or less: – 1/5 – First day of 3rd Quarter – 1/6 – Regular services resume – 1/6 – GO Camp 2016 (Summer Youth Camp) early signup begins.  (more info in another email) – 1/18 – MCPSS Schools out for Martin Luther King Jr. Day – 1/18 – RA Basketball Games from 9am – ? – 2/4 – WinterJam Concert at the Mitchell Center In 140 characters or more: Attendance Schedule Attendance...
