Monday Update 3/7

Good morning, I apologize for not sending an update last week.  Some of you know that I had a bacterial infection and I couldn’t get my mind wrapped around anything until near the end of the week.  Definitely feels good to be over that. Thank you to all the Sunday school teachers that grind it out week in and week out.  We had a load of students come this Sunday that helped empty out our morning breakfast.  Lots of new faces and I pray they will continue to attend.   On Wednesday we are back to regular schedule of services as the gym is clear of most of the yard sale stuff. I’ll be sending out a letter today to those who gave to the fundraiser we started at the Valentine’s Dinner explaining the change.  There will also be another email detailing how you can participate in the fundraiser going forward. We still only have 1 home signed up to house students March 18-20th.  If we do not have anymore by this upcoming Sunday then we will make other plans for our Discipleship Weekend. GO Camp signup and more information is coming soon.  We will begin pushing signups after the Discipleship Weekend.  More on that weekend below also, please read. Monday Update 2/22

Good morning, Last week I mentioned the new business in Mobile called “Get Air”.  If you were planning on dropping anyone off there under the age of 18 you won’t be able to do that anymore as some fights broke loose and they have since changed their policy.  That doesn’t affect us going, but figured you should know. Currently we have 1 home that has agreed to hosting students during the D-Now Weekend March 18-20th.  We need more than 1 so please let me know if you can host and if you have a preference for boys or girls. Remember that starting this Sunday after morning service the CAB will be on lockdown for solely yard sale stuff. I have been asked from a number of students if they could sell candy bars to raise funds for youth camp.  I looked into World’s Finest Chocolate but to be able to make a profit we would have to order $2000+ worth of chocolate and I am not willing to risk that to make less than $1000 once we pay sales taxes, shipping, and risk potential theft of candies. Lastly, Don’t forget about the current fundraiser going on also,  all details below and more. In 140 characters or less: – 2/14 – Regular Service times – 2/28-3/5 – GYM Closed for Yard Sale – 3/2 – Joint Service in the youth building at 6:30p (We will have snacks and refreshments) – 3/13 – Daylight Savings (Time Change 1 hour forward) – 3/18-20 – Connect ’N Unite D-Now Weekend – Cost $30 – 3/20 – GO Camp 2016 Sign-up ramps up – 3/26-27 –...

Monday Update 2/15

Good morning, I am very grateful for all those that attended, cooked, and served in any capacity at the Valentine’s Dinner and Show this past Friday.  We had 82 guests come and dine and 22 serving and/or cooking.  We pitched a 2-part fundraiser and i’ll speak more on that below.  High intensity evening for our servers, but they did amazing considering, for some, it was their first time waiting on a table. Next up for us is our D-NOW Weekend.   – Dates are Friday, March 18 – Sunday, March 20. – Cost is $30. – Bro. Jonny Gaston and Bro. Ralph Rimmer will be our special speakers for the weekend. Information is below on what we need for this weekend.  If you have our app then you can click on Events and read the notes also. Saturday afternoon was nice as I had the opportunity to take the assistant coaches Dylan Westbrook and Zach Huhn, and some of the players of the RA Older Basketball program to the South Alabama basketball game.  We rented a suite and ate plenty of hot dogs.  It was a nice time. The CAB will be closed for use from February 28 – March 5 for the Annual GRACE Yard Sale led by Bro. Jerry.  We will have a joint service in the youth building on March 2nd at 6:30pm with some refreshments and snacks for the students. Lastly, there is a new place in Mobile called “Get Air”.  It is a trampoline park on Schillinger Road.  We will plan to go there as a group some time in the near future so be...
