Sorry for the delay in posting this entry but I could not get online last night. There are a number of team members getting online each night and they seeminly are uploading their pictures on MyFace. Long story short – I am on the tail end of the connection and couldn’t jump on.
The Lord gave us a good Monday. Chris Taylor had shared the Word with us on Saturday morning and Davy Bosarge did so yesterday. Both guys did a good job! John Vickers continues to lead our musical worship each day and is doing a good job too.
We sent one group of 16 folks to the seminary where they painted almost the entire interior of the chapel and did paint the entire exterior of it. They also painted some other areas on the seminary campus. I am told they did a great job!
The rest of the team went to the Tecpan area where they started and completed i.e. cement poured, fronts on, et cetera six more houses. That is remarkable when one considers that mountain goats have decided to not live in this village because of the steep terrain. We had a number of folks fall down as we made the trek down to the initial four houses. Slip sliding away would be the theme for the day! This team has definitely been challenged when it comes to navigating the terrain but they have done superb!
We had 25 or so guests join us for supper last night and we all enjoyed a good evening of fellowship. Pastor Max & Terersa’s son-in-law, Estuardo, was in that number and it is always good to see him.
We have been praying for Amanda O’Bannon and her brother since the events of this past weekend. Yesterday morning, we received word that Soy’s uncle, Terry Taylor, 45 years old, had passed away from an apparent heart attack. Soy’s mother, Myrna, is on this trip too. Soy & Myrna will remain here and the service for Terry will take place on Thursday in Texas. I ask that you join us in praying for these situations.
Good news – the airlines assured us yesterday that Brad Kleinjans’ luggage is not lost! They just don’t know where it is! (Their very words!) So, we rest easier now knowing it isn’t lost!
Again, sorry for the delay in posting. Hope you have a great Tuesday. Keep praying for this team.
