Monday Update 1/11

Good morning, Thanks to those who tried to help sell the cooler as I was contacted on Saturday evening by some guys from Biloxi that came and picked it up.  I tried to give Bro. Benny his $50 for the sell of the cooler since it was his before donating it to the church, but he gave it back to me and told me to buy him some Powerball tickets this weekend. I am still waiting on a full schedule of games for Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Friendship but as soon as I have those I will send out an email. Today I was able to get Dustin Graham enrolled in Better Life Christian Academy (same home school Logan Wainwright graduated from).  This will be a better fit for him and allow me to help him a little more on his needed schoolwork.  Pray for Dustin as he continues this journey toward his diploma, and thank you for your prayers thus far. Speaking of Dustin, he has to have 140 hours of community service for this semester to complete so let me know if you need him.  He doesn’t know this email is being sent out, but I’m sure he will love me for all the work I’m going to be getting him 🙂 More below on schedules and events coming up: In 140 characters or less: – 1/11 – Bama wins 16th National Championship – 1/13 – Regular service times – 1/18 – MCPSS Schools out for Martin Luther King Jr. Day – 1/18 – RA Basketball Games from 9am – ? – 1/26 – RA...

Monday Update 1/4/16

Happy 2016, As normal it will probably take me a couple weeks when writing things to put 16 on the end instead of 15.  2015 was a good year and I am praying along with Bro. Teddie that 2016 be even better for our church family. The Evangelism class with Jonny Gaston is pretty much full.  Last text I received from him there were 31 signed up which is over what he planned on in the beginning, but to God be the glory.  Hopefully there will be another one offered after this first 8 week course and then some of our students can be a part of it, maybe even along with their parents.   Be praying about that! We are still looking to sell/giveaway the double door glass cooler that doesn’t work in the CAB kitchen.  If anyone wants it or knows someone that would like it here is the link: http://mobile.craigslist.org/bfs/5387248775.html I have not received an RA Basketball schedule for 2016 but as soon as I do I will post it. Monday Update 12/14

Good morning, Busy weekend for the Friendship Family with folks coming in from Guatemala, Upward, RA Basketball, and the Children’s play along with the weekend services. This Wednesday night we will have a Tacky Sweater Christmas Party with students 6-12th grades and on Sunday we will have a BreakFEAST for our last Sunday School of the year with our 6-12th graders. On a last note we are looking for a stand up single door cooler that can be locked for the kitchen in the CAB.  It will alleviate some of the confusion of use of the main double door cooler and give some room in the double door cooler to be used by others.  If you have any suggestions on where to look for one please let me know.  It will mainly hold drinks. Monday Update 11/30

Good morning and welcome to the end of November, Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Holiday and are back in the swing of things this morning. It was a blessing to the GBMS teachers of all the desserts that were donated to them on Wednesday, Nov. 18th.  They absolutely loved it and appreciated it greatly.  Thank you especially to Sara Gaston for coordinating those outside the church family to participate also.  It definitely helps in keeping the door open for us to have a Christian influence in the local public school, and if you didn’t know, that is something that is fading quickly in the US. Our first two games in Biloxi, MS with the RA Older basketball teams ended in losses but as I like to call it, there were some growing pains that we needed to endure before our regional season started. A big thanks to Zach Huhn for taking time to take Dustin Graham, one of our students to his GED assessment test on Friday, Nov. 20th.  Dustin will begin classes this Tuesday at the Grand Bay Community Center so please pray for him as this is a big step in the right direction in his future. If you are selling calendars the day to turn in all your calendar money and leftover calendars is on Sunday, December 6th.  At that point we will hopefully sell all remaining calendars. We have a couple things that are coming up and the information is below. In 140 characters or less: – 12/12 – RA Basketball Regional Games begin – 12/16 – Tacky Christmas Sweater Party (Last Wednesday of...

Monday Update 11/2

Good morning hot weather, Welcome to November in the South.  Thought about pulling out the tank top and shorts today. Before getting into too much detail I want to thank all the leaders, students, and adults that helped with the Hallelujah Festival.  I think it was a hit.  Afterwards we went to the Coastal Response Center in Coden for a scare.  It was ok, but I think the students enjoyed playing tag in the bounce inflatable more than anything. This week we begin a set of revival services focused toward our Hispanic ministry.  Lazaro Suruy will be the speaker and you are invited to join in the auditorium starting at 6:30p Monday – Wednesday.  With Wednesday being a part of the services we will join them at 6:30p.  The same times will stay in effect for hangout in the CAB before and after, but all students 6-12th will go into the Auditorium for the service. Cooking for the Bryant Football Team and Band went very well. !!!Last week I got some packages in the mail from Amazon that I was not expecting.  Low and behold it was a fulfillment from our RA Basketball Wish List.  I will keep the donor a secret but it was one of my favorite moments of last week.  You can find the link to the wish list below along with more info on other events.!!! Monday Update 10/26

Good morning, It was a joy to my heart to see us worship together with New Beginnings last night.  No matter what the color or background people have, our hearts all the same; broken and in need of a Savior.  I am thankful for Jesus and his sacrifice for everyone regardless of those characteristics. This morning I had the great opportunity to speak to some of the Breitling Bears on Trustworthiness.  Also, this morning, I am thankful I keep a change of clothes in my closet at work for wet days like this. 2016 Calendar Fundraiser starts this Sunday. It’s Hallelujah Festival week and we need a bunch of students to help with the event.  More details below on that and other upcoming events.
