SUNDAY, 2/15/15

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 39:1-40:38 Mark 1:1-28 Psalm 35:1-16 Proverbs 9:11-12

Miss Kathleen Henderson has once again been admitted to the hospital.  Blood pressure and loss of blood issues.  Pray for her.

Lisa and I visited with Miss Jay Love yesterday afternoon.  She is physically low and needs our continued prayer support.

We also visited Larry Whitehurst in the hospital.  Larry is not feeling well as he recovers from the surgery.  He will get better but definitely needs our prayers too.  We made our visit short so he could focus on resting.

I have not heard from her in recent days but would ask you to continue to pray for Lisa Thompson as well.

Becky Sellers is scheduled to go to Miami, FL at some point this week to meet with a specialist there.

Regular schedule today/tonight.  Lord willing, I will be preaching in all three services.  Hope to be joined by many members of the Friendship family.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

SATURDAY, 2/14/15

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 37:1-38:31 Matthew 28:1-20 Psalm 34:11-22 Proverbs 9:9-10

I arrived home last night around 11:15PM.  Thanks to Soy & Rusty for coming to the Mobile airport to pick me up.  As it turned out, I could have just ridden home with Kevin Vice as he and I were on the same flight from Atlanta to Mobile.

Julie & Danny’s mother, Miss Jay, continues to be on hospice care.  She and the family need our prayers.

Rusty told me last night that his sister, Becky, will be going to Miami, FL this coming week to meet with a renowned cancer specialist.

Got a text from Judy Whitehurst saying that Larry was not doing “great” but he had been moved to a room.  It is my understanding that it is not CCU but is also not just a regular room.

Kevin told me that Rita has been in Missouri because her grandfather had surgery.  He did well.  I think he is 94 years old.

Carla Kyser sent me a text a couple of days ago saying that her latest scans showed everything is stable.  That is great!  We give God the glory!

Bobby Broome and Ann Clark’s brother, Gene, is seemingly near the end of his physical life.  Ann, Lisa and Deidra will drive to Sand Hill, MS today to visit with him and the family.

Regular schedule tomorrow.  Lord willing, I will be in the pulpit for all three services.  I hope to be joined by many members of the Friendship family along with guests.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

Tonight is the student ministry fundraiser.  Takes place in the CAB.  Tickets had to be purchased by this past Sunday.  Pray the evening will be successful!

I am still in Guatemala scheduled to arrive home late tonight.  I stayed an extra day for several reasons and spent most of the afternoon in meetings.  Was able to meet and greet the team from Fremont, Michigan that arrived yesterday afternoon.

WEDNESDAY, 2/11/15

Happy 79th birthday to my dad and happy 76th birthday to my mama.  Hope their day is delightful!

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 32:1-33:23 Matthew 26:69-27:14 Psalm 33:1-11 Proverbs 8:33-36

Larry Whitehurst has been scheduled to have open heart surgery this morning at 7:30AM.  His nuclear stress test showed something which caused them to schedule a heart cath yesterday.  They could not place stents so today he will have either three of four by passes.  Pray for him.

Martha Patrick continues to be hospitalized.

Julie & Danny’s mother is at home under hospice care.

Regular schedule today/tonight.  Bro. Jerry will be preaching in my absence.

I am told that we had six folks at prayer meeting last night.  I failed to mention it in my entry yesterday morning.  Thank you to those who are praying.

I do not know how many guys showed up for TNBA.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 2/8/15

Happy second birthday to our granddaughter, Sydney Lynn Taylor.  I hope she has a wonderful day!

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 28:1-43 Matthew 25:31-26:13 Psalm 31:9-18 Proverbs 8:12-13

Martha Patrick fell broke a hip yesterday.  Not sure if they did surgery or not because of her heart condition.  Will get an update later today.  Pray for Martha!

Regular schedule today.  Praying for faithfulness.

Last day to purchase tickets for the “not so newlywed” fellowship that takes place this Friday, 2/13.

The volcano, Fuego, erupted yesterday in Guatemala.  It had no effect on our team except that the folks doing medical had to take a detour coming back to the mission house last night.  I did not even know anything about it until Pattie Suthoff sent me a message.  Everyone is fine here.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.  Go to church!

FRIDAY, 2/6/15

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 23:14-25:40 Matthew 24:29-51 Psalm 30:1-12 Proverbs 7:24-27

Larry Whitehurst sent me an iMessage yesterday saying that he has been scheduled for a heart cath next Tuesday, 2/10.  The stress test revealed a previous heart attack and low blood flow in a couple of areas.  Pray that the cath gives the doctors a very clear picture of what is going on in his heart.

George Johnston remains hospitalized.  It has been determined that he suffered a slight stroke and they are deciding a course of action for him.

Bro. Jerry & Tena have a friend in the hospital who is now on a ventilator after having two heart surgeries.  Pray for her.

Men’s breakfast tomorrow, 2/7, beginning at 8:00AM.  All men are invited to attend.  I believe TJ Vice will be sharing a word from the Word.

Only three days remain to purchase your tickets to the “not so newlywed” fellowship on Friday evening, 2/13.  Childcare will be provided.  Tickets are $20 each for a steak or chicken dinner.  Contact Bro. Chris for more information.  See him, Bro. Jim Chinners, Tina Wilkinson or Lynne Watson to purchase tickets.

All is well in Guatemala.  The temperatures have been just great!  This is ideal weather!  Most of the team arrived today and we will begin doing ministry (medical and construction) in the morning.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.
