SATURDAY, 10/3/15

Happy 19th birthday to our daughter, Dana.  Happy 19th birthday to our daughter, Gina.  I hope your day is great!  I love you!

Today’s Bible reading – Jeremiah 1:1-2:30 Philippians 4:1-23 Psalm 75:1-10 Proverbs 24:17-20

Pancake breakfast begins at 7:00AM today.  Everyone invited!

Work day begins at 8:00AM.  Everyone needed!

The visitation with Pastor Donald Sewer’s family begins at 10:00AM today and continues until the 11:00AM service time.  Everything takes place at First Baptist.  If you are helping with the food for the Sewer family, please have it in our fellowship hall no later than 1:00PM.  Pray for the Sewer family.

Cade Nelson did well through his surgery yesterday.  He was kept in the hospital overnight.

Kelli Stork was receiving a medicine through an iv every eight hours for forty hours.  I think that would have ended yesterday.  Todd & Kelli were waiting on the doctor to come talk to them yesterday morning.

Went to visit Greg Boutwell in the hospital yesterday morning and to my surprise he had been discharged on Thursday afternoon – praise the Lord!

Saw Teddy Ray’s sister in the hospital and found out that Teddy’s mother had been admitted on Thursday because of afib.  Her heart was back in rhythm yesterday morning which was as blessing.

Cynthia Cumbie remains in the hospital but they are talking about sending her to a rehab facility.

Brian Amonett continues to do extremely well in his recovery process.

Calvin Crist as discharged from the hospital in Birmingham about as quickly as he was admitted.  They feel they found his problem and have given him medication to treat it.

Keep praying for those folks battling cancer.

Congratulations to Coach Eric Collier for another victory last night.  He has the Bobcats rolling.

I am going with these teams to win today/tonight – UGA, AU, USA, UM (politically correct), USM, LSWho & ND.  (You will note that I did not pick Bama to win.  Said before the season began that the UGA Dogs would get Bama this year.  Hope I am way wrong!)

Pastor Shirlon Davis, his wife, Jennifer, and their children joined us for supper on Thursday night.  Jennifer cooked chicken and dumplings – oh my!  That girl can flat out cook some chicken & dumplings.  I do not know how she does it as she is from California and does not have enough sense to get in out of the rain.  She should open a restaurant!

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 10/2/15

Today’s Bible reading – Isaiah 66:1-24 Philippians 3:4-21 Psalm 74:1-23 Proverbs 24:15-16

Dana Taylor’s paternal grandmother, Miss Alice Harbison, passed from this life yesterday.  There will be a graveside service beginning at 10:00AM today at Oddfellow Cemetery.  (I will post the obituary in another entry)

This entry is being written from a hospital surgery waiting room as Ethan & Brittany Nelson’s youngest son, Cade, is having his tonsils and adenoids removed this morning.  Pray that all goes well.  Plans call for him to remain in the hospital overnight.

Greg Boutwell’s situation remains basically unchanged.

Cynthia Cumbie’s situation is really no different either.

Scott & Nanette Fontenot’s oldest daughter, Kelli, was admitted to the hospital yesterday because of her ongoing headaches.  She has battled these for years.  They are trying some type of iv treatment per Nanette.

The doctor told Carla Kyser yesterday that there is really nothing that can be done for the pain she has been having in her back.  It is a result of the disease in her spine.  Will have to manage it with medication.  Her legs have been swollen as well.  Tests showed no blood clots which is obviously a good thing.  Carla is a sweetheart (do not tell her that I said that) and I ask you to join me in praying for her.

Courtney Cavin’s father, Calvin Crist, was admitted to a hospital in Birmingham yesterday.  They are trying to find the source of his problems.

Keep praying for all of those from the Friendship family battling cancer.

Friendship family – pancake breakfast in the morning at 7:00AM followed by work day at 8:00AM.  Many folks needed to help make the work day a success.

The service for Pastor Donald Sewer takes place tomorrow beginning at 11:00AM from the auditorium of First Baptist.  If you are helping with the food, please have it in the fellowship hall no later than 1:00PM.  Carol Lucky will make sure it gets taken to the community center.  Thank you to each person who is helping!

I think the “old folks” return home tomorrow.  The term “old folks” comes from Andy Hamil – just for clarification!

Football picks in the morning.  I will go ahead and pick Cincinnati over Miami just as a teaser pick!

Regular schedule on Sunday – morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 10/1/15

Today’s Bible reading – Isaiah 62:6-65:25 Philippians 2:19-3:3 Psalm 73:1-28 Proverbs 24:13-14

We enjoyed a good day in our services yesterday morning/last night.  I did not mention the 7:30PM menu yesterday morning but Lisa had ham, macaroni & cheese, green beans, bread, pies and drinks – outstanding!

Visited Cynthia Cumbie yesterday morning and she continues to be in pain.  Said she had not slept in two nights.  I pray they can soon find the root of her problems.

Greg Boutwell was doing the same.  At this point, he is content to wait on the doctors to finish doing what they need to do in order for him to get well.  He is thinking  that he “could” be discharged within a few days.

Carla Kyser sees a doctor today regarding her back pain.

Eddie Whitmore received another chemo treatment earlier this week and is having some issues related to it.

Becky Sellers continues to do well with her treatments.  She even went to work one day this week just to get out of the house.

Visited Josh & Kristin Woods.  Isaiah was being checked by the doctor so I did not see him.  Josh was friendly but Kristin could not speak to me because her mama had instructed her to give me the silent treatment.

A time of visitation and a grave side service for Margaret Davis will take place this afternoon in the Amory, MS area.

Our senior adults in Tennessee are doing great per Andy Hamil.

Pancake breakfast at 7:00AM and work day at 8:00AM this Saturday, 10/3.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.
