WEDNESDAY, 3/14/12

Morris Dupont had a heart cath yesterday morning and everything went well.  He spent the night in the hospital and will go home today.

Larry Thompson was thinking that he would be discharged yesterday afternoon but I am not sure if that happened or not.

Miss Bryant did well through her surgery.  She will be in the hospital for a couple/few days.

The visitation with Christie Wynn’s family will take place tonight from 5:00 – 8:00PM at Serenity Funeral Home.  The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10:00AM also from Serenity.

Anna Carol Bosarge will be going to Birmingham tomorrow to consult with the doctors about her condition.

Wes Bates preaches one more revival service tonight.  Pray for him.

We are on a normal schedule today with one exception.  Our students will meet at the GBMS for their worship service tonight.  The doors will open at 6:45PM.  Why?  Because the CAB is filled with items for the yard sale.

Give Myrtle one job to do and she messes it up!  They finally got the votes tallied for Mobile County  (Danny Lewis did not win the seat on the county commission.   Maybe I should have started the write in campaign a bit earlier!)  early this morning.  Wait until I tell Jason Husband about Myrtle!

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus!

TUESDAY, 3/13/12

Morris Dupont will have a procedure done on his heart this morning.  I do not know the details but do ask that you pray for him.

Received sad news yesterday as we learned that Christy Wynn’s younger brother, Carl, passed away very unexpectedly.  He was in the hospital recovering from surgery.  I do not know the arrangements but do ask that you pray for Christy and her family.

Also received word that Larry Thompson is in the hospital because of an allergic reaction.

Morris Bryant’s mother, Miss Lucine Bryant, will have surgery on her knee today.  Pray that all goes well and this will settle this ongoing issue.

Wes Bates is preaching revival services this week in Texas.  Join me in praying for him and that church family.

I am sure that the folks who know the Marchand family are aware of this but I wanted to make sure as some have asked.  The visitation for the family will take place tomorrow, 3/14, from 10:00AM until noon followed by a noon service.  Everything will take place at St. John’s Catholic Church in Grand Bay.  Pray for the Marchand family.

Today is primary day in Alabama and Mississippi.  I will be glad when 7:00PM comes tonight so my phone will stop ringing.  I encourage you to vote today!  (I am thinking of writing in Danny Lewis for County Commissioner as he is a man of action!)  Seriously folks, I hope you have prayed and will vote your convictions.

Our GROW visitation takes place tonight beginning at 6:30PM.  I believe this is the night for the “R” team to minister.

The USM baseball team could be in trouble tonight as they travel to T-town for a baseball game.  They only beat Bama by 12 runs on 2/29 but the umpires were horrible in that particular game – LOL!  Chris & Courtney will probably miss the services this Sunday if their beloved Golden Eagles go down tonight.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus!

MONDAY, 3/12/12

The Friendship family was blessed with another good day in our services yesterday.  The 10:30AM service saw Scott Wescovich accept Jesus as his personal Savior and the 6:00PM service saw Kirsty Nowell make a public profession of faith.  We praise God for giving the increase!  What a Savior!

We were off in our morning attendance by 73 from the previous Sunday.  The reason?  Time change!  However, we were up by about that same number in our evening service.  God is good!

I have already received a few e-mails/comments from folks regarding last night’s service.  I also received one e-mail about yesterday’s morning service.  I appreciate the encouragement.

I am thankful to Bro. Jerry Whitmore, Miss Kittie Camp, and Nicole Taylor for their help with last night’s service.  I simply ask one question, “why aren’t you faithful?”  (That applies to all of us)

Presently, we do not have anyone in the hospital – praise the Lord!

I did not watch any television to speak of yesterday but I did record the Michigan State game and the selection show.  I watched the end of the game and the selection show when I got home from church.  I was glad to see MSU win and then get a #1 seed.  I was glad to see Bama get into the tourney but I think they will be back in Tuscaloosa by Saturday morning.  Could be wrong (been wrong before) but Creighton is a good team and the McDermott kid can play/score!

The folks in Alabama & Mississippi need to remember that tomorrow is voting day!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SATURDAY NIGHT, 3/10/12

It is 8:15PM (actually make that 9:15PM as my mind has already changed the time) and I decided to remind folks to SPRING FORWARD before going to bed.  The likelihood of anyone reading this before church time tomorrow is basically slim and none and I think I saw slim leaving town earlier today!

Teresa Ladnier came home from the hospital yesterday which was a day earlier than expected – praise the Lord!  Sharon Jardee did well through her surgery yesterday and she came home today.  I have not gotten an update on Keith Dike’s father.

The webinar was attended better than I anticipated as we had 62 participants.  Thanks to Bill Kendrick for organizing it, to Bro. Chris for the technical expertise, and to Marisa Felps & Lisa for taking care of the lunch.

By the way, Sam’s Super Burger donated the bread and condiments for the sandwiches.  We did not ask for that kindness but they were very gracious to us.  Patronize Sam’s and let them know you appreciate their kindness to your church family!

We are in the Beatitudes in the morning and in Smyrna tomorrow night.  I hope to be joined by many members of the Friendship family for the services.

SPRING FORWARD!

FRIDAY, 3/9/12

SPRING FORWARD!  Time changes on Saturday night (2:00AM) so please remember to set your clock forward by one hour when you go to bed on Saturday!  Obviously, this is important!

Sharon Jardee is having surgery this morning.  Shortly thereafter, Hannah & Logan Hatcher will have surgery.  Pray for all three of them as they go through their respective procedures.

Keith Dikes father took a fall from his roof yesterday and suffered a couple of breaks i.e. both wrists, chipped bone in his shoulder, injured ribs, et cetera.  He is in a local hospital and I was able to visit with him last night.

Carla Kyser got another good report yesterday regarding her cancer as the pet scan results were very good.  Praise the Lord!

Teresa Ladnier is doing well and should be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

Tony Hacker had a blood pressure issue yesterday that required him to be taken to the doctor.  Personally, is sounds like a ploy to miss a day of physical labor but that is just my opinion.

Gary Walton had a MRI yesterday due to problems with his back.  Do not know the results.

The webinar takes place tomorrow from 10:00AM – 1:30PM.  I ask you to consider joining our staff and deacons for this time of information.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

Got to

THURSDAY, 3/8/12

Teresa Ladnier did very well through her surgery and should be discharged from the hospital either tomorrow or Saturday.  Pray for a speedy recovery.

Sharon Jardee is scheduled for surgery early in the morning as are Hannah & Logan Hatcher.  Pray that things will go well for them too.

Carla Kyser got the results from her bone scan yesterday and they were great – praise the Lord!  She gets her other scan results today and also receives another chemo treatment.

Coley Johnson’s mother came home from the hospital on Tuesday.  Tommy Johnson’s mother (Coley’s grandmother) came home yesterday.  Tommy’s dad will receive another chemo treatment today.

Jason Creal’s dad is in the midst of fourteen radiation treatments.  I think he receives his fifth one today. Pray for him.

Tena Hovel said her dad is some improved but is still weak from the cancer/treatments.  Keep praying.

There will be a memorial service this morning at the Coast Guard facility on Tanner Williams Road.  This will be for the four men who lost their lives in the accident on 2/28.  I would especially ask that you pray for the search team to locate the body of the young man from Thomasville, AL as he is the only one of the four to still be missing.  Herbert Benefield will be joining that search this morning.

Time changes this Saturday night – SPRING FORWARD one hour before going to bed!

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 3/7/12

Teresa Ladnier will have surgery this morning.  She will be in the hospital for several days.  Pray that all goes well.

Bill & Debbie’s daughter did well through her surgery and the doctor was pleased with how everything went.  Prayerfully, this will bring a healing to her body.

Carla Kyser gets another scan today and then a treatment tomorrow.  Pray for her.

A very important letter from me is being sent/mailed to the Friendship family today.  It announces another couple of steps in our desire as a church family to be obedient to God.  Please read it prayerfully.

Want to receive our communication electronically?  Send an e-mail to chris@friendshipfamily.net.  It is the quickest way to hear from us and it saves us money too.

We are on a regular schedule today with the morning service and the evening activities.  I pray that I will be joined by many members of the Friendship family in these services.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus!

TUESDAY, 3/6/12

Bill & Debbie’s daughter, Brandi, will have surgery today.  Please pray for her through this procedure.  Also pray that this will bring a healing to her body.

Visited with Coley’s mother yesterday and she was in hopes that she “might” get to go home later in the day.  I do not know if that happened.  Visited with Tommy’s mother.  She is battling pneumonia.  Tommy’s dad is scheduled for another chemo treatment on Thursday.

Visited with Peggy Benefield and she was waiting to see the doctor.  He cam in later and they did a heart cath which revealed a blockage.  They inserted a stent and she should come home today.

Visited with Miss Exie Woods and Merwyn Gunter too.  Merwyn had a sleepless night on Sunday.  Otherwise, they both were doing good.

Alisha Vice is living on a seminary campus in Uganda for the month of March.  She will be teaching English.  She is doing good.  Pray for her.

Our GROW visitation takes place tonight beginning at 6:30PM.  Pray for this ministry.

Watched a lot of college basketball last night.  This is an exciting time of the year for college basketball fans as March Madness is in full swing.  I am going with Kentucky to win it all and I figure Joe David Bailey will soon mimic my pick.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

MONDAY, 3/5/12

Wow, we had a blessed day in our services yesterday and we give God the glory!  It is always a blessing to have someone accept Jesus as their personal Savior and that happened in our 10:30AM service.  We also had one of our members commit to working in the bus ministry.  The attendance in all three of our services was very good even with our students attending Winter Jam last night.  Praise the Lord!

This is apparently surgery week as we have four members of the Friendship family undergoing surgical procedures between now and Friday.  Also, one of our deacons has a daughter having surgery in another State.  Pray for these folks and I will mention them again on their respective days of surgery.

Peggy Benefield remains hospitalized.  They are trying to regulate her medicines in hopes this will be the answer to her problems.

Tommy Johnson’s mother was placed in the hospital this past Saturday night.  She has pneumonia.  Coley Johnson’s mother remains hospitalized too.

Carla Kyser has scans today and Wednesday and then another treatment on Thursday.

We have at least 46 folks signed up for the webinar this Saturday, 3/10.  If you did not sign up but plan on attending, please call the church office.  We need to provide adequate lunches.

It was sweet watching UNC beat Duke this past Saturday night.  I am not a Duke basketball fan.  I told Timber last night that I am going with Kentucky to win it all!  Could they get beat?  Maybe by UNC or Syracuse but I do not think so.

To my MSU fans – what is up with letting OSU beat you at home yesterday?  Wow!

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus!

SATURDAY, 3/3/12

Word came to me via Bro. Jerry last night that Peggy Benefield is in a local hospital.  They put a NPO sign on the door which obviously means they mean do a procedure i.e. heart cath today.  May not.  Pray for Peggy, Herbert and the family.

Sharon Jardee will have surgery next Friday morning, 3/9.

There is a new Christian radio station in town.  It is K-Love and it can be found at 97.5 on the FM band.  It plays contemporary music and pretty much plays music most of the time.

Our deacons meet tomorrow at 4:00PM followed by our trustees at 5:00PM.  Both meetings take place in my office.

We are on a regular schedule tomorrow.  Lord willing, I will be present for all of the services and will be preaching the two morning services and the evening service.  I will not be preaching the Spanish service.  I hope to see many members of the Friendship family present for the services tomorrow!

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.
