TUESDAY, 4/2/13

Will, Amy & Riley Reynolds are set to welcome “Jackson” into the world this morning.  Pray that everything will go well.

It is my understanding that the visitation with the Ronnie Glass family will take place this Friday, 4/5, from 11:00AM until noon at which time the service will begin.  The visitation and the service will take place in the church auditorium.

The Glass family is a large family and we still need help with the food in order to feed them on Friday.  Please call the church office today (8:00AM – noon; 1:00PM – 5:00PM) if you will help.

In my absence, our deacons and two of our full time staff members are on call with a different one on call each day.  Today, 4/2, Carl Ray Moulds  is the deacon on call.  If a need arises, please contact Carl Ray.

Here is the complete on call list: Wednesday, 4/3 – Bro. Jerry Hovel; Thursday, 4/4 – Max Peacock; Friday, 4/5 – John Ladnier; Saturday, 4/6 – Bill Kendrick; Sunday, 4/7 – Larry Whitehurst; Monday, 4/8 – Herbert Benefield; Tuesday, 4/9 – Kenny Lingle; Wednesday, 4/10 – Bro. Kerry Kelley; Thursday, 4/11 – Rob Nevin; Friday, 4/12 – Bernard Suthoff.

Obviously, all of these men are “on call” on any day at any time and will be there to help meet any needs that arise.  Our deacons basically to a man assured me of their support and encouraged me to leave without worries as they would minister in my absence.  I appreciate these men and our staff.

Today, we have a four hour tour of The Sound of Music.  Folks, I would rather go on a three hour tour with Gilligan!

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus!

MONDAY, 4/1/13

Obviously, this post is way late and for good reason – I have not had access to the internet since early yesterday afternoon.  I apologize but there was really nothing I could do about it.  I have a call in to Al to see if he can get better service in Europe.

What a blessed Easter weekend we enjoyed at Friendship!  A special “thank you” Bro. Benny, Bro. Dale, Soy, and all of the SS teachers, bus workers, and others who helped with the classes/church services on Saturday morning.

A special “thank you” to Bro. Kerry and the choir for presenting the Gospel in song during Saturday night’s service.  It was well attended and was a good service.

Thank you to each person who went the extra mile on Sunday morning to make our three worship services special.  We had really nice attendance overall and I thank you for being faithful.

I hope to hear from someone within the next few hours regarding the arrangements for Ronnie Glass.  If so, I will post them tomorrow morning.

Lisa and I left Mobile at 4:00PM yesterday and arrived in Munich, Germany, via Atlanta and Amsterdam, around 8:30AM Grand Bay time.  My brother, Eddie, and his wife, Sue, were waiting on us and we grabbed a quick shower, ate in a German restaurant (Burger King) and then boarded a train for Austria.  So far, Eddie gets an “A” for his planning efforts!

I pray that you will have a great rest of your Monday afternoon and evening with Jesus.
