HARPER LYNN BOSARGE ARRIVES!

Harper Lynn Bosarge made her grand appearance into this world today at 8:06AM.  She checked in weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces and is 21 inches long.  All is well!  Dale & Karla are excited and first time Grandma Vera is elated!

Davy & Ashley, the pressure is on!  LOL!

SUNDAY, 1/19/14

Today’s Bible reading – Genesis 39:1-41:16, Matthew 12:46-13:23, Psalm 17:1-15, Proverbs 3:33-3

It is 4:15AM and I assume that Karla Bosarge has not given birth to Harper as of this time.  If she has, I have not heard from Dale.  Pray for Karla, the baby, and Dale.  At some point today, Dale should become a father – amazing!  Scary!

Regular schedule today.  Baptism as a part of our evening service.

Thank you to those who attended the visitation and/or funeral service for Bob Henley.  Thank you to those who helped with the food to feed the family after the service.  What a blessing!

Rumor has it that a new business is coming to town – “Kaskets by Kevin!”  Remember, you cannot believe everything you hear (or read)!

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.

BABY BOSARGE IS ON THE WAY

Dale called to say that Karla has been admitted to the hospital.  They had gone out to eat with Dale’s parents and had to leave the restaurant suddenly and head to the hospital.  They have been told to expect a baby within the next twenty four hours.  Pray for a safe delivery!

If Soy, Rusty, and Alan were good friends, they would go to the hospital and play cards with Dale to help pass the time!  My guess is that Dale’s hair will stand straight up when the baby is born!

NOTE OF APPRECIATION FROM MICHAEL ROBERTSON (ULAN UDE)

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

New Year’s is the biggest holiday in Russia and official holidays were the 1st through the 8th.  Those being completed, our meetings have resumed.  We have new faces at the student/career Bible study and at the English class comprised mainly of adults.  Most coming to the English class are non-believers affording some of my best opportunities for evangelism and establishing relationships.
We were able to have a Christmas celebration in our home for the students January 7th, the Russian date for Christmas.  Of the 18 in attendance several were 1st timers from the church which we attend,  including one who is in a position of leadership.  This is important as we have had to gain the trust of the leadership.  Church leaders in Ulan Ude are wary of  foreigners and anything an attendee does that is not their idea and directly under their authority.
We are also making a concerted effort to disciple some young believers and train them for outreach to non-believers and to disciple new believers. Thank you for your consistent and generous gifts these many years exemplified by the one sent in December.  Due to Holiday spending, the months immediately following Christmas can be a light in Mission giving.  Your faithfulness to be involved in prayer and finances is a great encouragement and help.
In the service of Christ,
Michael Robertson

SATURDAY, 1/18/14

Bible reading for today – Genesis 37:1-38:30, Matthew 12:22-45, Psalm 16:1-11, Proverbs 3:27-32

The funeral service for Bob Henley takes place this morning at 11:00AM preceded by an hour of visitation with the family.  If you are helping with the food, please have it at 1st Baptist (fellowship hall) no later than 11:00AM.

Upward basketball games begin at 8:00AM today.

Tomorrow’s morning services are going to be special.  Close to my heart.  I think it will be one of those “you had to be there” type services.  Just saying!

If we experienced revival then seeing a full house should not be problematic.  Will you be in your rightful place?

Speaking of revival, I have one thing confirmed and am praying/working on three more major events.  If these things take place, you are going to be blessed!  Pray!

Also, I have a sense in my spirit that I need to involve some of you in tomorrow night’s service.  If the Lord used the revival services to speak/minister to you personally and you are willing to share a three minutes or less word in the evening service, please contact me via e-mail today.  If the Holy Spirit just prompted you, then you are to speak.  Only about the revival and no longer than three minutes.

We will observe the ordinance of baptism in the evening service too.

You will notice the buses are now parked on the west side of the property and this will remain true for the foreseeable future.  We parked them there for years and circumstances dictate that we park them there again.  Need details?  Contact me.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

FRIDAY, 1/17/14

Bible reading for today – Genesis 35:1-36:43, Matthew 12:1-21, Psalm 15:1-5, Proverbs 3:21-26

The visitation with the Henley family takes place tonight from 5:00 – 9:00PM.  Another visitation takes place tomorrow morning from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM service time.  The visitation and service will take place from 1st Baptist Grand Bay.  Pray for Miss Chris, Bobby, Billy and the entire Henley family.

Carolyn Blaylock has been moved to a regular room.  I visited with her yesterday morning and she was a “little” better.

Our Upward leagues continue play tomorrow.

Bro. Jack & Miss June arrived home safely around 5:00PM yesterday.

We are on a regular schedule this Sunday.  We will worship through baptism as a part of our Sunday night service.

Folks, our attendance this Sunday will give us an indication of what God did through our series of revival services.  Will you be faithful?

Deacon Bill Kendrick posted a comment on yesterday’s blog entry about the American pastor being held captive in Iran.  Take time to read it and take action.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 1/16/14

Bible reading for today – Genesis 32:13-34:31, Matthew 11:7-30, Psalm 14:1-7, Proverbs 3:19-20

First, and foremost, to God be the glory!  He did a wonderful work among us during the past four days.  Some folks made some strong commitments to the Lord.  It is a God thing and He alone deserves the glory!  Thank you Jesus!

Second, thank you Friendship family for your faithfulness!  We had really good attendance in our services with last night’s being our best of the evening services.  You gave generously to the love offering for Pastor Jack and Miss June.  It was great!

Third, thank you to Lisa, Ann, Deidra & Daphne for hosting Pastor Jack and Miss June each evening following the services.  Folks, they did an outstanding job!  Lisa was the ring leader but she could never have pulled it off without the help of the other three.  Great job!

Fourth, thank you to those who gave Pastor Jack & Miss June cakes, cookies, other sweets, tomatoes, peppers, towels, whatever.  What great acts of kindness.

Fifth, did we have revival?  I think so but time will tell beginning with this Sunday services.

Pray for Carolyn Blaylock as she remains in the hospital.  The visitation with the Henley family takes place tomorrow night from 5:00 – 9:00PM at 1st Baptist.  Service is at 11:00AM on Saturday with an hour of visitation prior to the service.

The Friendship family has been asked to provide casseroles, salads, and some vegetables for the meal following the funeral service.  If you can help, please call the church office today and that message will get relayed to Miss Vinnie.  The food should be taken to the fellowship hall of 1st Baptist no later than 11:00AM on Saturday.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus!

ONE CORRECTION ON TONIGHT’S SERVICE

I made a mistake!  It is 9:00AM and I had only made 8 thus far today but now I am pushing double digits!

The choir will not meet tonight at 6:00PM!  That is great as it simply means more folks can join us for prayer in the youth building at 6:00PM.
