SATURDAY, 8/8/151

Today’s Bible reading – Ezra 7:1-8:20 1 Corinthians 4:1-21 Psalm 30:1-12 Proverbs 20:28-30

Sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting a few hours to catch a flight home.

About the only update I have is that Brian Amonett had surgery on Monday night, was flown by helicopter to New Orleans on Tuesday night and had another surgery on Wednesday.  He had a scan on Thursday.  The doctors are watching two spots and taking it day by day.  Debbie and family are grateful for the prayer support.

The Howard family will complete the arrangements for Pastor Johnny this morning.  Tentatively scheduled for everything to take place on Monday from Serenity.

We are on a regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.  Deacons will meet with me at 4:00PM in the 30-39 SS class room.

I pray that you will have a great Saturday with Jesus.

THURSDAY, 8/6/15

Happy birthday to my mother-in-law, Ann Clark.  I think she is 61 today!

Today’s Bible reading – Ezra 3:1-4:23 1 Corinthians 2:6-3:4 Psalm 28:1-9 Proverbs 20:24-25

Lots of prayer requests to share with you – pray for the family of Alvin Creal as they will gather for the service tomorrow at noon.

Pray for Nancy West and her family as her father, Al Sevilla, passed away.  Nancy and family have traveled to the Houston, TX area for that service.

Pray for the Juliet Whitmore family as she passed away.  Mrs Whitmore was the step mother of Sierra, Eddie & Jerry.  They will have a private service for her.

Pastor Johnny Howard remains in critical condition in the hospital.  They will do some testing today and it is possible that the family will be asked to make some decisions.  Pray for Pastor Johnny, the medical staff and his family.

Dede Tagert was taken to the hospital yesterday.  Doing tests to determine the exact cause of her problems.

Cynthia Cumbie is in the hospital.  I believe her problem relates to her gall bladder.

Bobby Baria, son of Robert & Roseanne, had surgery on his shoulder and is recovering.

Kathy Johnson, wife of Tommy Johnson, had an emergency heart cath but everything showed to be good.  They will do some more testing to determine the cause of her problems.

Carla Kyser begins her chemotherapy treatments tomorrow.  Pray!

I am not sure if Brian Amonett has been moved to New Orleans or not yet.  I do know he needs our prayers.

Our last GRACE trip of the Summer is now history as all forty four team members are traveling home today.  Pray for safety in travel.

Speaking of GRACE trips, August is the time for members of the Friendship family to sign up for either the June 23 – 30, 2016 or July 28 – August 4, 2016 (young adults) trips.  A two hundred dollar non refundable deposit will secure your spot on either of those teams.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

WEDNESDAY, 8/5/15

Today’s Bible reading – Ezra 1:1-2:70 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:5 Psalm 27:7-14 Proverbs 20:22-23

Pastor Johnny Howard was taken by ambulance to the hospital last night.  He has been placed on a vent and is in critical condition.  Please pray for Pastor Johnny, Karla and the entire family during this time.

Carla Kyser did not get a good report from the latest tests.  Therefore, she will begin receiving chemotherapy treatments this Friday.  Pray that these treatments will be effective and work quickly.

Brian Amonett had surgery on Monday night.  He is going to be transferred to a hospital in New Orleans as the doctors in Mississippi have done all they can do.  Brian has taken a step backward which is why he had to have the additional surgery.  Pray for Brian and the new doctor that will be taking his case.  Pray for his parents and siblings too.

These three situations have really weighed on my mind during the night.  The Friendship family will be praying as they gather this morning at 10:00AM and then again tonight at 6:30PM.  Folks, these are urgent prayer needs.

Thank you to those who went to the auditorium and prayed last night.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 8/4/15

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 35:1-36:23 1 Corinthians 1:1-17 Psalm 27:1-6 Proverbs 20:20-21

The main thing that needs to be conveyed to the Friendship family today is our prayer time which takes place tonight from 5:00 – 7:00PM in the auditorium.  Folks are asked to enter/exit using the door on the West side.  It is a come and go type prayer meeting.

Tonight, there will be a sign in sheet on the front pew.  If you do not mind, please sign your name as you enter to pray.  Just helps us keep count.  If you forget, no big deal.  The important thing is for us to pray.

We are praying for Carla Kyser.  She has no new word as of this morning.  We are also praying for revival.  Pray for Evangelist Wade Morris as he prepares to be with us 8/16 – 8/19.  Finally, I ask you to pray for Pastor Terry Rainey, Shannon & Chris.  They have gone away for a few days as they continue to deal with the loss of Miss Cookie.  Pray without ceasing!

Regular schedule tomorrow morning and evening.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus.

Sunday, 8/9 – Ezra 8:21-9:15 1 Corinthians 5:1-13 Psalm 31:1-8 Proverbs 21:1-2

I am told that our services yesterday were good.  I appreciate Bro. Jerry preaching in the morning service and Bro. Jim Chinners doing likewise in the evening service.

Really do not have any updates on those battling various illnesses.  Keep praying.

Speaking of praying, it is my hope that we will have a really strong number present for prayer meeting tomorrow night from 5:00 – 7:00PM.  We are praying for revival.

I was honored to be able to take part in Miss Cookie Rainey’s celebration of life service yesterday afternoon in Inman, SC.  Great service with a packed house.  I appreciate Pastor Terry asking me to take part as he knows many, many pastors/evangelists.  He is a dear friend as was Miss Cookie.  Pray for him, Shannon, Chris and the rest of the family.

As I write this entry, I just saw Lisa board a plane heading for Mobile and I am sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting on a flight to Guatemala.  Pastor Joe David Bailey has led the team in my absence and has done a great job.  Lord willing, I will rejoin the team later this afternoon.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.

SUNDAY, 8/2/15

Today’s Bible reading – 2 Chronicles 32:1-33:13 Romans 15:23-16:9 Psalm 25:16-22 Proverbs 20:16-18

Carla Kyser sent me an e-mail yesterday saying that the spot on her liver is small according to the PET scan.  The “light up” was minimal which is a good thing.  Keep praying.

Pray for the service for Miss Cookie this afternoon.  Lord willing, I will be there to help with that service and will then return to Guatemala first thing tomorrow.  I am honored that Pastor Terry would include me as he is friends with many, many pastors, evangelists, et cetera.  Lisa will be joining me in South Carolina.

Regular schedule this morning and evening.  Praying for faithfulness.

I pray that you will have a great Sunday with Jesus.  Go to church!
