SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST
Tom Compagner called around noon today to tell me that Dan Van Vels passed away this morning. I realize that most of the members of the Friendship family did not know Dan but he & his wife, Gloria, are faithful participants/supporters of GRACE Ministries. They were signed up for the February 2011 GRACE trip. Dan would have been 60 years old on September 15.
Pray for Gloria and the family as they walk through this valley. My heart hurts for them. Our loss is heaven’s gain but death sure stings!

One of my uncles who I recently requested prayer for, Doyce Richardson, died Sunday afternoon. Although he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, his death was much sooner than anticipated due to a heart attack. It was Uncle Doyce’s prayer that he die quickly rather than lingering; so, maybe this was God’s merciful answer. Within an hour of being notified of her brother’s death, my mother received another call telling her that a dear friend (and former Grand Bay resident, Dora Graham) had also passed away yesterday following a lengthy battle with cancer. Please keep my mother in your prayers as she travels to Texas and deals with these losses.
