FRIDAY, 6/6/08

VBS ’08 will end today as far as the classes are concerned.  However, we will have our “Family Night” service beginning at 5:00PM this Sunday, 6/8.  We have averaged a little over 300 folks each day which is lower than the past couple of years but we have had a good VBS.  Praise the Lord!

Jenny Bosarge remains hosptialized and she is in her 31st week of this pregnancy.  It appears they will simply let her continue to carry the baby as long as mother and/or son are in no apparent danger healthwise.  David Boutwell was to be moved to a rehabilitation center yesterday afternoon.  Burney Barnes remains in ICU.  Jean Hatcher also remains hospitalized.  Jimmy Crawley was scheduled to go home yesterday too.  Estuardo Morales went home yesterday.  Pray for all of these folks.

The funeral service for Paul Smith went well.  Thanks for your prayers.  The service for Dewayne’s aunt, Paulette Tillman, will take place this morning at 10:00AM.

Our new website design is serving us well as we are getting a good number of hits each day.  (Of course, Chris has Nicole sitting home every afternoon & evening just continually clicking on the site to get the numbers up!)  Spread the word so we can get up to 10 hits a day – that would be awesome!

I promised that I wouldn’t mention her name on this blog but our oldest daughter is celebrating her 26th birthday today!  Claude Landry is also celebrating his birthday (not 26) as is our friend, Ron Haveman, from Michigan.  Happy birthday oldest daughter, Claude, & Ron!

Tomorrow, 6/7, will see Jenni Kirschenman Godwin (25), April Waters Nicholson (26), and Roy Johns celebrate their birthday.  It will also see Ryan & Rochelle Genzink celebrate their first wedding anniversary!  On Sunday, 6/8, the Queen (Kathy Genzink) celebrates her (32nd?) birthday.  Rumor has it that she, as Queen, is demanding a holiday be declared in southwest Michigan!  Happy birthday and/or anniversary to all of these folks!

I mentioned a couple of funeral services in this entry.  I did read the other day where the man who invented the Pringles can passed away and was cremated.  You got it – they placed some of his remains in a Pringles can per his request!

Also, a lady in Grand Prairie, TX attended a minor league baseball game this past Tuesday night and won a $10,000 funeral for herself!  Talk about a prize you don’t want to redeem!

Gotta go drive a VBS bus!  I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus!
