FRIDAY, 1/24/14

Today’s Bible reading – Genesis 48:1-49:33, Matthew 15:29-16:12, Psalm 20:1-9,Proverbs 4:20-27

Nikki Burwell was transported to Jackson, MS early, early yesterday morning.  She underwent a surgical procedure.  The doctors plan on trying to awaken her at some point this afternoon.  It is my understanding that she will be in Jackson for a minimum of ten days.  Keep praying.

Robert Baria was admitted to the hospital Wednesday night.  Thought it was the flu but the test came back negative.  They either did or are going to do a “lumbar stick” (spinal tap) to try and determine the cause of his elevated temperature.

Karen Walker is in the hospital.  She had an apparent stroke but is doing better.

I thought the funeral service for Edwin Blackmon went well.  His family members did great in sharing about him.  Bro. Kerry Kelley and Becky Hatcher did a good job with the music.  The food was plenty.  Pray for Eula Mae and family.

Service at the Mission of Hope tonight at 7:00PM.  Everyone is invited.

The Alabama women’s basketball team upset #8 UK last night.  I am thinking they could beat UA’s or AU’s mens team?  I may write Coach Battle suggesting he give the men’s coaching job to Morris Bryant.  I also may write AD Erdmann suggesting Coach Eric Collier as the new DC for the Jag’s football team.

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

From ACLJ latest on Pastor Saeed,

American Pastor Saeed has been moved from a violent prison ward full of murderers and rapists to the political prisoners’ ward.
Make no mistake; while his situation has slightly improved, he is still languishing in the deadliest prison in Iran. He faces grave danger and life-threatening prison conditions. Worst of all, his health is deteriorating.
An Iranian prison doctor says he needs surgery to address internal injuries he received from prison beatings.
Read the latest update on Pastor Saeed’s condition.
Yet Pastor Saeed is not receiving the medical care he needs.
Now is the time to act – to force Iran back to the negotiating table. The U.S. Senate stands ready to renew sanctions on Iran – sanctions that are a key to Pastor Saeed’s freedom. A vote on these sanctions is being blocked. Stand up for Pastor Saeed – a U.S. citizen – and demand a vote on Iran sanctions.
Sign the Petition to Sanction Iran and Demand Pastor Saeed’s Release Today.
