FRIDAY, 3/21/14

Today’s Bible reading – Numbers 32:1-33:39, Luke 4:31-5:11, Psalm 64:1-10, Proverbs 11:22

Lindsey Vice is scheduled to give birth today around noon.  I do know she is having a boy.  Name?  IDK.  I am thinking J.T. but I could be wrong.  Seems like I remember T.J. telling me that the shorter the name, the cheaper the birth certificate?  (Of course, if that were totally true, T.J. would have him named just one letter!)  Pray for a safe delivery.

Kevin Sprinkle remains in the hospital but should come home today.  His brother, Archie, is at home but they are not sure of the next step in his battle against cancer.

Coley’s stepmother, Linda, remains in ICU with no significant change to my knowledge.

Jacqueline Crawley did well through her surgery and came home yesterday afternoon.

Alan Alridge’s father is doing better.

Bro. Kerry’s aunt has made improvement but remains hospitalized.

Bobby Stork’s brother, Donald, has a couple of spots that the doctors will be checking.

Mandi Fortner’s grandmother has issues with her aorta that are very serious.

All of the folks mentioned need our prayer support.

The service for Carolyn Blaylock went well.  The Friendship family was well represented.  Thank you to those who attended and to those who helped feed the family.  I appreciate Miss Vinnie coordinating that ministry yesterday.

We are on a regular schedule Sunday morning and evening.  We will observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper during our evening service.  The weather is supposed to be good so we should have a full house for worship.

I pulled Edwin Williams’ mother aside at the funeral visitation yesterday to ask if she really cooked liver and pancakes for breakfast.  She does!  Yuk!  Liver, onions, gravy, pancakes & syrup to be eaten all together!  Disgusting!  I found out this past Wednesday that Bobby Stork eats such!  Folks, there are some “sick” people in this world!  (I got to thinking – do you think Edwin’s mother ate such as she was pregnant with him?  That could explain a lot!  LOL!)

The bad news is that I will not be winning one billion dollars based on my NCAA bracket!  I missed on three of the sixteen games yesterday as I had Ohio State, WMU, and St. Joe’s winning.  The “good” news is that  Bro. Chris will not be winning the money either.  Nicole really believed that her “man” could do it!  Love is so blind!  My risky picks today are SFA over VCU and UT over UMass.  Unlike, Bro. Chris, TJ, Joe David and a host of others, I only have one bracket.  (Joe David has 64 brackets so that he will be able to say “I picked it” when it is all said and done!)

I pray that you will have a great Friday with Jesus.

From the ACLJ news letter, please sign the petition at aclj.org and Pray without ceasing.

Today is a critical day for American Pastor Saeed.
Iran begins celebrating its new year, a time when clemency – freedom – is often granted to prisoners of conscience. Your voice could make the difference.
Last week you spoke out, and Iran changed course allowing Pastor Saeed to stay in a hospital instead of being shackled back in prison.
This week your voice has been heard at the United Nations. Representatives from both the U.S. and Germany specifically raised Pastor Saeed’s name at the U.N. Human Rights Council.
Through your support, your signatures, our legal team was also able to directly present Pastor Saeed’s case to the U.N., not once but twice.
Pastor Saeed deserves medical treatment he is not yet receiving. He deserves freedom – to be reunited with his wife and children.
Now, as the Iranian new year begins, we need to hear from you again.
Sign the Petition Urging Clemency – Freedom – for Pastor Saeed Today.
