REMEMBERING BRO. ROBBIE HOWARD

As I was on the plane yesterday, my thoughts were on Bro. Robbie Howard knowing that today, 2/4, marks the second anniversary of his promotion to Heaven.  O how I miss that man!

As the Nelons were singing the song about freedom this past Sunday morning, I “heard” Bro. Robbie shout “Amen!”  I know he was not there.  I know he did not shout it.  I do not believe folks in Heaven see what is taking place on earth.  However, in my heart I heard Bro. Robbie shout.  I am certain it was because he has been on my mind so much lately with this anniversary approaching.

Bro. Robbie was my grandfather in the ministry, a mentor and a dear friend.  He and Miss Peggy impacted my life for as long as I shall live.

So, I thank God for the privilege that was mine to cross paths with Bro. Robbie Howard.  I cherish his memory!

Had to share this about Bro. Robbie with you. Being our neighbor often when I would go walking he would stop me and we would chat about church. He would always ask me how the pentecostal people belive in this and that(various subjects). Early one Sunday morning before church I walked out to get the paper. Bro Robbie drove by, stopped and we chatted and I asked him what was his sermon for the day. He said Im gonna preach on Hell and Heaven. I looked at him and said Bro Robbie what is your title? He said I just dont have a good title yet, Im waiting on the Lord. I looked at him and said Bro Robbie just preach like a “dying man to a dying man” and then he give me the strangest look and said Bro Butler you just give me my title.. I felt God confirm it. Later that week I asked him how was the service and he said he had 4 saved and he just preached like a dying man to a dying man. Im so glad God still saves and delivers and I said Amen Bro Robbie. Amen… Oh the good conversations we had about church, living for the Lord and sharing the Gospel to others while we were neighbors. I to thank God for letting him be our neighbor for a short time and our paths crossed..
