THURSDAY, 2/6/15

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 21:22-23:13 Matthew 24:1-28 Psalm 29:1-11 Proverbs 7:6-23

It basically took all day for Miss Jackie Goff to get into surgery but, once there, she did fine.  It was going to be her decision as to whether she spent the night or not.  I do not know what she decided.

George Johnston, Wendy’s husband (pray for him), spent last night in the hospital for observation.  Not sure what today will hold.

I posted two entries yesterday.  One the first (regular) one, Glenda Chinners posted a comment.  It speaks of a scan that their son, Aaron, will have today.  Important prayer request.  Please take the time to read it and pray for Aaron.

On the second entry, Donald Butler posted a comment.  He shared an experience that he had with Bro. Robbie Howard one day.  In my opinion, worth reading.  Thank you Donald for sharing.  (We have eleven readers and I think Donald may be our only Pentecostal reader!)

I am told that yesterday morning’s attendance was good and that last night’s was not so good.  I know it was a rainy day.  I just say “thank you” to those who were faithful.

Men’s breakfast this Saturday, 2/7, at 8:00AM.  All men invited.

Please remember the “not so newlywed” fundraiser being sponsored by our students on 2/13.

I will tell you that the weather in El Tejar has been absolutely fantastic – wow!  Today is “change” day as Pastor Bob and team left this morning while thirty five others are leaving Grand Rapids, Durham, NC, and Birmingham heading this way.  Pray for a safe day of travels for all involved.

I pray that you will have a great Thursday with Jesus.

REMEMBERING BRO. ROBBIE HOWARD

As I was on the plane yesterday, my thoughts were on Bro. Robbie Howard knowing that today, 2/4, marks the second anniversary of his promotion to Heaven.  O how I miss that man!

As the Nelons were singing the song about freedom this past Sunday morning, I “heard” Bro. Robbie shout “Amen!”  I know he was not there.  I know he did not shout it.  I do not believe folks in Heaven see what is taking place on earth.  However, in my heart I heard Bro. Robbie shout.  I am certain it was because he has been on my mind so much lately with this anniversary approaching.

Bro. Robbie was my grandfather in the ministry, a mentor and a dear friend.  He and Miss Peggy impacted my life for as long as I shall live.

So, I thank God for the privilege that was mine to cross paths with Bro. Robbie Howard.  I cherish his memory!

WEDNESDAY, 2/4/15

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 19:16-21:21 Matthew 23:13-39 Psalm 28:1-9 Proverbs 7:1-5

Happy 23rd birthday to our daughter, Henni!  Hope her day is great!  (Really hope that Alan goes ahead and marries her today!)

This very late entry is coming from El Tejar, Guatemala.  Lisa and I arrived safely at 1:00PM.  Here is the amazing thing – at 1:20PM we had cleared customs, gotten our checked luggage and were on the outside of the airport – twenty minutes!  Absolute best time ever for me with checked luggage.  Wow!

Miss Jackie Goff is having a procedure done today.

Teresa Hanson was discharged from the hospital yesterday.

As far as I know, Vera Bosarge’s sister remains hospitalized.

Robert & Shirley Patrick are both facing physical difficulties.

Regular schedule this morning and evening.  Bro. Jerry will handle the preaching responsibilities in the 10:00AM and 6:30PM services.  I pray the Friendship family will be faithful in their attendance.

Remember the “not so newlywed” fellowship on Friday, 2/13.  Tickets ($20) are available through this Sunday, 2/8.  Childcare will be provided.  Contact Bro. Chris for more details.

I pray that you will have a great Wednesday with Jesus.

TUESDAY, 2/3/15

Today’s Bible reading – Exodus 17:8-19:15 Matthew 22:34-23:12 Psalm 27:7-14 Proverbs 6:27-35

Teresa Hanson’s surgery went well.  They took a little early and there were no glitches.  I thought it was outpatient but they kept her overnight.  She should be discharged today.

Vera Bosarge’s sister, Juanita, was doing much better yesterday.

Bro. Jerry sent me a message last night saying there were a total of eighteen folks present for Grief Share last night.

Prayer meeting tonight from 6:00 – 7:00PM.  Come and go or come and stay for the entire hour.

TNBA tonight at 8:00PM.  Had to have attended at least of of this past Sunday’s worship service in order to take part in tonight’s action.

This entry is coming from the Mobile airport.  Lisa and I are heading to Guatemala to join the first GRACE team of 2015 which is being led by Pastor Bob Harvey.  The second GRACE team of 2015 will join Lisa and me on Thursday, 2/5.

The staff and deacons are available in the event you need any of them.

I pray that you will have a great Tuesday with Jesus!

We were blessed with a “super” Sunday in our services yesterday.  We give God the glory!  What a joy to see one follow Jesus in baptism yesterday morning and then another do so last night.  (At this point, in our IE3, we are only one baptism short for 2015) The Nelons were a real blessing.  The attendance was very good in the morning services and then really strong in the evening service.  I commend the members of the Friendship family for your faithfulness in attending the services – thank you!

Teresa Hanson is having surgery this morning.  It is supposed to be out patient.  Pray that everything goes well.

Chris, Bro. Jim Chinners, Lynne Watson or Tina Wilkinson to purchase tickets.  This is a fundraiser for our student ministry.

Our prayer meeting takes place tomorrow night, 2/3, from 6:00 – 7:00PM in the auditorium.  Everyone is invited to join this special time of prayer.

TNBA takes place tomorrow night, 2/3, beginning at 8:00PM in the CAB.  Only requirement is that you had to attend at least one of the services at Friendship yesterday.

I pray that you will have a great Monday with Jesus.
