MONDAY, JUNE 18

Wow, it has been Monday all day long!  I apologize for not blogging much earlier in the day but this is absolutely my legitimate first opportunity to do so.

My day began early with an airport run to Gulfport to deliver Willie Johnson to catch his flight and then to hook up with the rest of team in Houston.  Bro. Jerry and team were boarding a flight in Mobile.  The best laid plans of mice and men!

The Houston area was hit with inclement weather last night which almost made our Canadian team members miss their connection.  As it turned out, they were only about an hour late, arriving at the L.G. Camp, Jr. Mission House at midnight.  However, those storms affected today’s travelers.  The plane into Mobile from Houston last night was late and the crew couldn’t fly again until having sufficient time off as required by the FAA.  So, a late start in Mobile meant a missed connection in Houston.  Bro. Jerry and the others received vouchers for two meals and were booked on tonight’s flight which is scheduled to get into Guatemala at 9:05PM (10:05 our time).

Dauphin Way Baptist’s mission pastor, Terry Stephan, was to meet the team in Houston too but he made the connection as he was flying in from St. Louis.  So, being an experienced traveler, he rented a vehicle and is either at the mission house already or still driving westwardly!  I hope the first of those two options!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch – I went to the hospital for Whitney Bryant’s surgery.  I couldn’t stay but Morris called to say she did well.  They are trying to determine whether or not to do any treatments.  She will be in the hospital overnight at the very least.  Pray for her, Morris, & Diane.

I then stopped by another hospital to check on Barbara Williams – Robin Black’s mother.  She had a heart cath and got a very good report – PTL!  I assume she was discharged at some point today.

I went to the church to get ready to leave for Wild Week.  My week has already been wild.  So, here we are in Phoenix VII having arrived around 2:30PM or so.  The students are on the beach dodging the rain.  We’ve already lost Zach Huhn, Drew Crawley, and one of the Hall twins but I don’t know which one!  We will have pizza at 5:30PM, a leader’s meeting at 6:15PM, and a worship service at 7:45PM.  Pray that this will be a life changing event for our students and adults!

I haven’t gotten an update on Christine Leasure but I know her situation is grave.  Please pray for Jack & Chris.  Pray that the team gets to the mission house safely tonight.  By the way, you can read the GRACE blog to keep up with them or go to www.mrbcstudents.net to read Bro. Craig Walker’s entries.  We are blogging away this week!

I pray that you will have a great evening!
